Investment Services Private Markets & Finance

The Investment Services Private Market and Finance (ISPVMF) Department leverages data and emerging technology to provide investment services and financial management on Private Equity, Real Estate (RE), Infrastructure and Cross-Strategy investments, strategically and tactically. The department oversees the development and implementation of business infrastructural plans and operating models needed to scale GIC's investments in the alternative asset classes globally. This covers deal structuring, due diligence and closing, financial operations across GIC's Private Equity, Infrastructure, and RE assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations and financial reporting. The department also oversees the GIC Group's revenues and expenditures.

A comprehensive global reporting and analysis platform is crucial for the effective oversight of GIC RE's portfolio given its continued expansion and complexity across multiple sectors. We are looking for an experienced individual to drive the development of this platform, working in partnership with the RE business and other key departments within GIC.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new capabilities in portfolio management reporting and analysis through collaboration with RE Global Investments & Portfolio Strategy team and Technology partners
  • As a conduit between RE business and the Private Markets data solutions function, identify, design and support the collection and quality control of data that is critical for RE's analytics needs
  • Project manage analytics initiatives across multiple geography teams and functions
  • Oversee portfolio reporting operations and processes for RE globally, and continuously seek improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk
  • Partner with GIC enterprise departments such as the Risk & Performance Management, Economics & Investment Strategy, Legal & Compliance departments to implement enterprise reporting needs for the RE business
The successful candidate will support the Department in delivering Sustainable Top Quartile Performance. Accordingly, the incumbent is required to engage with stakeholders at all levels across the firm.

Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience and good academic qualifications in relevant fields
  • Strong RE business knowledge including performance and exposure measurement methodologies, and across multiple investment types such as funds, directs and debt
  • Ability to think strategically, conceptualize ideas, formulate tactical plans, and execute to agreed timelines
  • Strong analytical and project management abilities with an eye for details
  • Experience in process evaluation and re-engineering
  • Excellent end-user computing skills in visualization and data transformation. Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and visualization tools such as Tableau. Comfortable managing a significant volume of data
  • Ability to forge strong partnerships with multiple stakeholders across different departments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present ideas and engage stakeholders across all levels
  • Inquisitive self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience managing and coaching talented colleagues to develop them to their full potential.
