Job Description

My client, a corporate bank is looking to grow their IT program team. The office is located at Changi Business Park (East).

As part of the APAC IT team, you will be responsible for defining and setting up the IT landscape for APAC region. This includes working with business and IT stakeholders to understand their needs, leveraging on the existing systems landscape, and developing a plan to implement the new IT landscape. You will also be responsible for managing the implementation project and ensuring that it is completed on time and within budget.


Role

• Formulate and set up IT workstreams for wholesale banking and private wealth products and services.
• Create technology roadmaps to meet program objectives.
• Lead feasibility studies and identify solutioning options.
• Establish program plans, including scope, schedule, resources, budget, and quality assurance.
• Review application architecture and infrastructure designs.
• Ensure adherence to financial and head office policies, guidelines, operating processes, and project management practices and standards.
• Work with stakeholders to explore technical solutions and achieve business objectives.
• Drive the implementation of regional technology programs to meet strategic or tactical objectives, always looking for standardization opportunities.
• Develop an understanding of various SMBC systems to provide solutions for specific projects and lead such initiatives.
• Support the establishment and implementation of project management practices, templates, policies, and tools to expand and mature the program and project management capabilities of the IT APAC organization.
• Support project portfolio reviews in the region, ensuring alignment with the APAC region\'s strategic objectives, and proposing optimal prioritization for decision-making by management.
• Participate in key regional meetings and provide updates and alignment for programs and projects.
• Be responsible for program risk assessment to mitigate potential issues and track status and progress.
• Coach, mentor, and motivate other program and project managers when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in computer science or information technology.
• Minimum of 12 years of work experience in IT program management, preferably in the banking industry.
• Strong knowledge of banking domain, such as wholesale banking and private wealth banking products and services.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements for the APAC region for the banking industry.
• Strong technology delivery capability, solution design, and project governance framework.
• Experience in program feasibility studies, pros and cons for solutioning options, cost-benefit analysis, and building consensus among stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively manage and motivate teams. Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex IT programs on time and within budget. (Demonstrable experience leading or managing IT programs in the financial services domain, with budgets of over USD10 million.)
