The Welder is responsible for performing welding and related fabrication work on metal components, structures, and equipment. The role involves reading blueprints, setting up welding machines, and ensuring high-quality and safe welding operations according to project specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform welding and fabrication work using MIG, TIG, ARC, or gas welding methods as required.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery.
Cut, join, and repair metal parts and structures such as frames, tanks, and piping systems.
Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
Perform grinding, fitting, and alignment before and after welding.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist in maintenance or modification works when required.
Record daily work activities and report to supervisors.
Ensure compliance with company and industry safety regulations.
Requirements:
NITEC / Higher NITEC in Welding, Fabrication, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant welding experience.
Knowledge of various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, SMAW, etc.).
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
Certified in relevant welding codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, or equivalent) preferred.
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
