Summary

To work as a welding in-charge and manage the welding team for Semi-Sub and Jack-up Rigs, Drillship, FPSO, FSO, and Other Offshore platforms construction.

Responsibilities:

• Reviews project specification and provide necessary welding information and advice to meet the requirements of the project
• Reviews project specification for welding process, base metals, filler metals, and select appropriate Welding Procedure Specification (WPS)
• Attends pre-contract clarification meeting as necessary
• Develops and qualifies new WPS/PQR as per AWS D1.1, ASME Sec IX, Class Rules and Client\'s requirement
• Manages the company WPS Data Base according to company policies
• Manages the company Welder Qualification Register and ensure that welders are qualified and their certificates are maintained and valid
• Maintains the better welding control at Workshop, Onboard, and other worksites to avoid complaints/ non-conformance
• Develops the welding sequence, method statement and work instructions as required
• Attends the site complaints, act as a trouble shooter and resolve the issues on time with the appropriate solution
• Monitors the welder\'s performance, implement the control measures to improve the weld failure rate
• Monitors welding activities to ensure project specific requirements are fulfilled
• Audits on the subcontractors\' works, evaluate their performance and take necessary Corrective/ Preventive actions as required
• Provides training to Welding Supervisors, Welders and welding operators to create the welding awareness

Requirements:

• Degree in Welding/ Metallurgy/ Mechanical Engineering or AWS/ TWI Certified Welding Engineer
• Must be certified International Welding Engineer (IWE) or equivalent
• Preferably 5 years of relevant experience in Marine, Oil, and Gas
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge in Metallurgy and Welding
• Knowledge in Non-Destructive Testing requirements (RT, UT, LPT, MPT, & ET)
• Familiar with Class Rules, Codes, National and International Standards
• Familiar with SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, SAW, & GTAW welding processes
• Familiar with CS, SS, Cu Ni, Duplex, Super Duplex, and Titanium material specifications
• Able to work on-sites (workshop, onboard, local sites, anchorage, voyage, and overseas)
• Able to prepare Quality Assurance Plans and Procedures, Quality Management System, and Quality System Audits
• Able to board ships, enter confined spaces with limited visibility and have the ability to climb up and down stairs and/or ladders of varying heights.
• Good in planning, organizing, interpersonal skills and able to work independently
