This high-level position ensures workplace strategies align with our overarching business objectives, while managing emergency preparedness and business continuity programs. Key responsibilities include fostering an inclusive, safe, and productive work environment, leading a dedicated team, managing budgets, and championing continuous improvement and innovation for a thriving and efficient workplace.This role also involves driving and supporting key global and APAC initiatives, ensuring seamless implementation, rollout, and achievement of strategic goals. Moreover, the Workplace Lead will collaborate with Singapore sites\' workplace teams to spearhead initiatives, engage with APAC workplace communities to share best practices, and collaborate on joint initiatives. It will shape policy and drive collective efforts, engaging in regular communication both internally and externally to advance common goals.As a representative of the organization in SHE-related forums, working groups, and conferences, the Workplace Lead will play a pivotal role in influencing and shaping the future of workplace management, positioning the organization as a leader in safety, sustainability, and service excellence.The OpportunityStrategic Leadership and Oversight entails developing and implementing workplace strategy plans that align with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s overall business objectives while providing leadership and vision. This includes creating long- and short-term occupancy plans tailored to various business unit needs and driving oneRoche initiatives to promote a unified approach to workplace excellence. Additionally, it focuses on fostering a culture of safety, sustainability, and service excellence, continuously evaluating policies to meet organizational goals and regulatory standards, and guiding the integration of new technologies to enhance workplace efficiency and effectiveness.Leadership and Team Management focuses on leading the Workplace Team in an inclusive and collaborative environment while coaching and developing team members to enhance their skills and achieve performance excellence. It emphasizes mentorship to inspire high performance and includes planning and managing budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation and financial accountability. Additionally, clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) are set for the team, with regular performance reviews and constructive feedback provided. The approach also encourages continuous professional development and learning opportunities for team members.Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) involves developing and implementing policies to improve workplace safety and health while ensuring compliance with global, regional, and local regulations. It includes leading SHE policies and programs in alignment with Roche directives and overseeing compliance and risk management as the appointed SHE Officer. Additionally, the role advocates for sustainability initiatives focused on waste reduction and energy conservation, measures work environment efficiency and employee satisfaction to identify improvement opportunities, and pilots new initiatives to enhance safety, sustainability, and service excellence, sharing best practices across the organization.Emergency and Business Continuity Management involves establishing and maintaining the Local Emergency Management (LEM) system and Business Continuity Management (BCM) program to ensure organizational resilience. This includes collaborating with relevant offices on security and emergency initiatives while aligning with the APAC Business Partner. Oversight is provided for the development and implementation of comprehensive emergency preparedness programs, alongside coordinating regular risk assessments and drills to prepare for potential disruptions. Additionally, cross-functional collaboration ensures that all emergency plans are integrated and effectively communicated throughout the organization, while staying informed about emerging risks and industry best practices.Community Engagement focuses on actively participating with APAC workplace communities to share best practices and collaborate on industry-wide initiatives for continuous improvement. It involves influencing policy-making by engaging with industry groups and aligning efforts with organizational values. Additionally, the role emphasizes building strong relationships with external partners, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders to stay informed about industry trends. Representation at community events and forums further promotes the organization\'s commitment to excellence in workplace management.Stakeholder Engagement involves maintaining regular, transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders to advance common goals and foster a cohesive approach to workplace management. This includes developing and sharing comprehensive reports on workplace performance, strategic initiatives, and key metrics with senior leadership. Open forums and feedback channels are facilitated to address concerns and gather input, promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, various communication platforms are utilized to keep the organization informed about workplace policies, updates, and initiatives.Professional Advocacy involves representing the organization in SHE-related forums, working groups, and conferences to actively contribute to discussions and knowledge exchange. This role focuses on influencing the future of workplace management by participating in industry-shaping activities and advocating for best practices. It includes networking with industry peers to benchmark practices, identify improvement areas, and implement innovative solutions. Additionally, staying informed about the latest trends, regulations, and advancements ensures the organization maintains its leadership position in workplace management.Who you areYou should hold a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Safety, Health and Environment or equivalent with a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in SHE and two or more years in office/facility management.Expertise in local and global SHE regulations, with experience in laboratory safety and biosafety preferred as well as familiarity with Business Continuity Management (BCM), risk management, and emergency management is advantageous.You should have strong leadership skills with experience in managing and inspiring high-performing teams as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and representation.You should have the ability to align workplace strategies with business objectives fosters continuous improvement, while a strong collaborative approach enhances teamwork across various internal teams and external communities.You should be a champion of innovation and continuous improvement in workplace management, possessing strong organizational skills with a focus on precision and accuracy as well as demonstrating proficiency in problem-solving and critical thinkingWho we areAt Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare.
