Tasks

• Key Responsibilities:
  • In the areas of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH)
  • Act as the Secretariat in the monthly WSH Committee meeting and prepare minutes of meeting
  • Maintain and review safety management system in accordance to ISO 45001 standard
  • Conduct investigation on workplace accidents / incidents and identifies cases of non-compliance with organisational procedures and legal WSH requirements
  • Provide recommendations on corrective & preventive actions as well as areas of improvement
  • Conduct regular WSH inspections and audits to ensure spirit of continuous improvement to WSH and Laboratory standards
  • Develop, review and assess risk assessments
  • Review, manage and pre-qualify approved contractors
  • Conduct emergency evacuation drills and exercises
  • Address and maintain all licences, permits and legal compliance in accordance to the requirements of local government agencies
• In the areas of management systems and awareness campaigns
  • Develop, review and maintain relevant Safety and Laboratory Quality Management Systems documents, accreditations and certifications
  • Develop and conduct in-house WSH and laboratory quality related trainings and briefings
  • Implement and drive WSH and Laboratory Quality awareness programs
• Others
  • Undertake all other duties as required of a Registered WSH Officer
  • Any other ad hoc duties assigned
  • Support ASEAN legal entities

• Key Requirements:
  • Minimum a Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (SDWSH) qualification or any equivalent discipline preferably in Engineering related (Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical)
  • At least 3 years of experience as a WSH Officer, preferably in either laboratory testing environment, chemical or manufacturing industries
  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with Ministry of Manpower and preferably certified as Fire Safety Manager (FSM)
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of ISO 45001 and local WSH legislations and requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management and ISO/IEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories will be added advantage
  • Passion in workplace health and safety and a good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills is essential
  • Comfortable with business travels
