Has the experience in financial reporting and accounting principles with a minimum of 3 years of accounts payable (AP) experience

Role is focusing heavily on Accounts Payable Processing

Familiarity with SAP is essential. Added exposure to the commodity trading industry is useful but this is not a must.

Our client is a renowned and global commodity trading MNC based in town. The MNC is now looking to hire a hands-on accountant to support its commodity trading business for a 6 month contract assignment.


For this role, you report to the Regional Controller. This is a hands-on role covering mainly

accounts payable processing with financial accounting, process improvement and other ad hoc projects.

Accounts Payable

Release of payments from SWIFT platform Coordination with the payable team members in India Coordination with local teams if any to confirm payments to be ran (both trading + corporate) Day-to-day communication/relationship with business, external parties and banks Define improvement of current process and tools within APAR team

Financial Accounting

Prepare monthly financial reports Prepare statutory accounts and other reporting financial statements Ensure the local compliance reports (incl. direct and indirect taxes) are accurate and submitted on time. Ensure internal controls on closing activities are efficiently and regularly applied Handle Surveys (e.g. GTP) Handle external auditors Perform financial performance variance analysis, comparison between budget and actuals Coordinate, collect and consolidate the financial information from the different stakeholders to prepare budgets and forecasts Implement financial process improvements and participate in ad-hoc projects

Technical qualifications and skills

Degree / Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent Familiar with AP standard procedures Familiar with SAP

Profile

4 - 5 years' relevant experience in Accounts Payable is required Commodities background is advantageous, but not a must
