There is an exciting, challenging opportunity to join the Life & Health Financial Reporting Team as an Intern, working part-time from January to April 2024.

You will support the senior actuaries on the local valuation work, regional modelling and valuation support provided to the other business units in Asian markets (i.e., Southeast Asia, Korea, Japan, Malaysia Retakaful, and Dubai).

Your job

• Support Solvency II, IFRS 17 and Local Statutory reporting for APAC, Middle East and North Africa businesses
• Work with key stakeholders including varied business units to ensure successful, smooth implementation of reporting process to address enquiries/requests
• Assist in preparing accurate, clear and timely information to present to management.
• Support in analysing valuation results under multiple reporting bases, and help to enhance and automate analysis tools using Excel VBA, Power Query etc.
• Perform data cleaning and transformation from raw data into standardized format that can be used for valuation and experience analysis purpose and conduct data reconciliation to ensure accuracy of results
• Develop algorithms for use in data cleaning and automation of data-driven processes
• Ensure that the valuation data, model and processes are up to date and with appropriate and clear documentation. This includes development and maintenance of AXIS models.
• Support other regular reporting or ad-hoc projects and tasks.

Your profile

• Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics.
• Good analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Responsible, proactive, adaptive, meticulous, and a team player.
• Knowledge of Excel (can perform complex functions), VBA, ACCESS/SQL will be an advantage.
