The Middle Office is part of the Asian Investment Banking Division. It provides centralized services to Global Corporate & Investment Bank (GCIB) coverage and product teams to enable business growth and seamless client experience. The department comprises of:

Client Services & Data Management \xe2\x80\x93 General support for product onboarding, client services, client outreach, account maintenance, client data quality and transaction booking

Credit & Account Management \xe2\x80\x93 Support on credit registration, monitoring, and administration as well as on account plan preparation and deal screening

Trade Finance Middle Office \xe2\x80\x93 Manage and control the execution of commodity trade finance transactions

Agency \xe2\x80\x93 Provide agent bank services for structured finance, syndicated loans / bonds, and securitized transactions

Regional Transaction Booking \xe2\x80\x93 Provide operational support to MUFG branches to facilitate booking of transactions in Singapore

Regional Reporting Hub \xe2\x80\x93 Centralized team handling regulatory, head office & credit reporting with team managing requirements and overseeing report production

As an Analyst joining Middle Office you will have a unique opportunity to get exposure across various teams depending on business needs. Furthermore, design of this role may allow direct progression into Junior Relationship Manager under GCIB Coverage / product over medium-time horizon, subject to performance.

Middle Office provides exceptional service by resolving a broad range of complex customer needs involving various investment banking products and market segments. This requires a high level of responsiveness to internal and external customer requests and collaboration.

Job Responsibilities:

Proactively assist with customer service needs for a one-stop service experience

Support booking of loans, deposits, FX, transaction clearance on sanction screening, and resolving settlement issues

Help maintain static data including customer information, facilitating change of signing mandate, special handling, and preferential pricing treatment

Assist with monitoring the entire booking portfolio throughout the respective loan tenor

Support due diligence and credit analysis to assess the credit worthiness of new and existing clients and counterparties

Help monitor covenants, credit ratings, market events, sector trends and client performance as part of ongoing portfolio monitoring duties

Support Relationship Managers in the preparation and update of client account plans for regional Deal Screening Committee approval, and new product onboarding process

Support calculation of loan drawdowns, interest, commitment fees and upfront fees

Help coordinate with borrowers / lenders on loan drawdowns, interest and commitment fee payments, repayments, prepayments and upfront fee payments

Help monitor condition precedent and condition subsequent

Support safe keeping and archiving of original document

Collaborate closely with the Legal department and external counsel as appropriate

Liaise with internal departments on new workflows, reporting and administrative function; Build relationships and make recommendations for process improvements

Assist with special projects and implementation of department initiative as appropriate

Job Requirements:

Minimally possess a Bachelors Degree

Professional experience in Banking or Financial Services.

Masters degree will be an added advantage

Professional qualifications such as CA / CFA / FRM will be an added advantage

1-2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in banking, financial services or related field with knowledge in corporate banking products and services such as interest rate, loans and deposit, foreign exchange, trade finance, structured product / project finance

Other qualities sought include problem solving, interpersonal skills, collaborative mindset, the ability to work independently and under time pressure, multi-tasking while maintaining attention to details and high accuracy; ability to analyse and interpret data

Challenge the status quo and adaptability to change, balance with strong team spirit and strict compliance culture

Must be proficient in Excel and other MS Office applications.

Expertise in using Bloomberg is an added advantage
