Job Description


Role summary: We are looking for an ambitious individual with entrepreneurial spirit to join our Risk & Compliance team. The individual will have a positive and innovative outlook on overall enterprise risk covering areas of credit, operational and compliance risk in the current global landscape. Three primary areas of responsibilities (1) supporting the overall Risk team in area of credit, operational and compliance risk monitoring (2) conduct thematic reviews to aid second line of defence assurance for credit, operational and compliance risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Risk deliverables, reviewing effectiveness of processes and ensuring that controls are working as intended.
  • Monitor action plans against elevated risks to maintain credit, operational and compliance risk within Olea risk appetite.
  • Perform checks on AML CTF requirements for Olea to ensure compliance to regulations in Singapore and Hong Kong.
  • Develop risk analytics infrastructure for meaningful monitoring of risk processes. (credit, operational, compliance
  • Conduct thematic reviews within the organization to ensure compliance to regulations, policies and procedures and processes.
  • Analyse financial statements and spreadsheets to identify trends, risk factors, and key performance indicators.
  • Conduct credit risk assessments and make recommendations based on financial data.
  • Conduct Risk related training and awareness sessions for Olea staff
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across the venture, including understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and policies.

Role specific technical competencies:
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (e.g., excel, word, PowerPoint)
  • Analytical skills for risk and compliance monitoring
  • Adequate understanding of Credit, Operational and Compliance Risk
  • Understanding of Financial Terminology and Concepts

Qualifications (training, licences, memberships and certifications):
  • Ideally 2 years experience covering first line risk in financial sector.
  • Fresh Graduates/Candidates with no experience are welcome to apply.
  • Experience in finance institutions dealing with trade or supply chain financing would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional drive and achievement orientation, intellectual agility, and communication skills.
  • High comfort level with the uncertainty of an expanding start-up, with constant self-education, ability to develop structure from scratch, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to collaborate in virtual teams.
  • Degree in any discipline.
