What you will be working on:- The Industry Ecosystem Development Department (IEDD) of the Energy Market Authority (EMA) champions the development and transformation of the energy ecosystem towards a clean energy future by supporting energy innovation, development of new business models, industry collaboration and workforce development. - We are looking for an Analyst/Senior/Principal/Senior Principal Analyst with the Industry Capability Branch. The role will focus on harnessing the untapped potential of demand management in Singapore. - Demand management involves the reduction of electricity demand temporarily during peak periods. This can support power system reliability and reduce instances of sustained price volatility. - You will encourage participation in the demand response and interruptible load programme, which enables contestable consumers to reduce their electricity demand voluntarily when wholesale electricity prices are high, in exchange for a share of the system-wide benefits. You will explore and implement enhancements to the programme, and promote participation in the programme by engaging with industry and government agencies. - You will also assess the value of other solutions, such as district cooling systems, for demand management.What we are looking for:- We are looking for people with strong analytical and synthesis skills, having the ability to dissect issues and develop coherent solutions. - You must be excited about learning new things, comfortable with navigating ambiguity, challenging the status quo, and willing to speak up and put forward new solutions. - You must have a good grasp of quantitative and qualitative skills and be prepared to deep-dive into the relevant subject area. - You should be a team player. - Candidates with prior experience in policy development, demand management, and industry engagement, and knowledge of the electricity market will have an advantage.About Energy Market Authority:The Energy Market Authority (EMA) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
