Job Description
What the role is:The Industry Ecosystem Development Department (IEDD) of the Energy Market Authority (EMA) champions the development and transformation of the energy ecosystem towards a clean energy future by supporting energy innovation, development of new business models, industry collaboration and workforce development.
- We are looking for a Analyst/Senior/Principal/Senior Principal Analyst with the Industry Capability Branch. The role will focus on harnessing the untapped potential of demand management in Singapore.
- Demand management involves the reduction of electricity demand temporarily during peak periods. This can support power system reliability and reduce instances of sustained price volatility.
- You will encourage participation in the demand response and interruptible load programme, which enables contestable consumers to reduce their electricity demand voluntarily when wholesale electricity prices are high, in exchange for a share of the system-wide benefits. You will explore and implement enhancements to the programme, and promote participation in the programme by engaging with industry and government agencies.
- You will also assess the value of other solutions, such as district cooling systems, for demand management.
