The Benefits Senior Group Manager manages multiple teams through other managers. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors\' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically, a direct report to a C16 role and function as an intergral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and executing the firm\'s reward strategy. The Benefits Senior Group Manger
  • Manages the key areas of reward, benefits and pensions and liaises with third parties to develop a consistent best practice approach.
  • Executes the functional strategy for the benefits group.
  • Leads team with managing Citi\xe2\x80\x99s Health Care programs including Medical, Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, Trip/Transit, Flexible Spending Accounts, and Retiree Medical Programs (U.S. Domestic and Puerto Rico populations).
  • Accountable for the end results of benefits and reward deliveries.
  • Ensures that reward practices are compliant with the relevant regulatory recommendations and requirements are also covered in this function.
  • Handles and resolves escalated individual participant issues.
  • Assists with regular internal and external audits.
  • Manages regulatory filings and state reporting.
  • Contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business.
  • Assists with vendor management to ensure ongoing quality of benefits delivery.
  • Maintains and plans a budget and budget approval.
  • Develops communications for employees and Human Resource (HR) colleagues and identify improvements to existing communications.
  • Handles day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
  • Manages health and welfare benefits impacts resulting from mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business.
  • Manages volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area.
  • Ensures motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm\'s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience, including 8-10+ years\' managerial experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Proactive leadership and motivational skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven influencing and relationship management skills
Education:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s/University degree, Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferred and managerial experience
