Our APAC Statutory Accounting team is searching for an accounting professional who consistently exceeds expectations, who thrives in ambiguous and challenging situations, who demonstrates strong controllership, and who can influence stakeholders across the business.

We are seeking an experienced Legal Entity Senior Accounting Lead to support business expansion and local GAAP statutory reporting and compliance across the APAC region.

This new position will work with cross-functional teams globally to deliver quickly and efficiently. As such, this role requires excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to senior leadership across geographies and time zones. Furthermore, critical thinking, bias for action, and ability to understand the big picture while staying connected with the details, will be key for this role.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying and implementing local accounting and compliance requirements to support business growth
- Preparing annual financial statements and leading audits throughout APAC
- Monthly local GAAP financial reporting and controllership reviews
- Researching, evaluating and documenting local GAAP technical accounting positions for business events and launches
- Influencing stakeholders across the business to resolve accounting and controllership risks
- Driving process improvement and automation opportunities on a global scale

About the team
Our APAC Statutory Accounting team comprises 23 members across Sydney, Singapore and Beijing. We own statutory reporting and compliance across APAC (excluding India), working closely with stakeholder and peer teams globally. We focus on (i) improving controllership, (ii) maintaining accurate and efficient local GAAP financial reporting, (iii) enabling our business teams to launch new activity quickly and well-controlled, and (iv) developing our people. We prioritize scalable solutions, value autonomy, and ensure a good balance of recurring and one-off project-based workload.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor\'s degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor\'s degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- Six Sigma Black Belt
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
- Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
