The AWS Global Sales (AGS) Strategy Team architects and is responsible for the AGS strategy and the success of our business-critical strategic initiatives.In the APJ Strategy team, we work in close collaboration with our internal business leaders, leveraging their domain expertise, coupled with data and insights from customers, to inform and drive transformative changes across our sales organization. The ideal candidate will have strong sales strategy experience, a deep analytical background, and experience implementing complex sales strategy and associated initiatives. They will have experience working closely with sales leadership to drive growth and a customer-first mindset, and bring the foresight required to anticipate business needs, make short- and long-term trade-offs, and balance business dynamics despite constraints. Strong judgement and a demonstrated ability to influence without explicit authority are keys to success, as well as knowing where and when to advocate vigorously for a well-informed position.Key job responsibilities
- Formulating strategies for APJ within AWS Global Sales organization based on customer data and observations, identifying strategic focus areas to achieve organizational goals
- Manage highly complex and visible strategic initiatives. Influence cross-functional teams and leaders to drive business decisions with a focus on growth and efficient scaling of the business (e.g., data driven recommendations over sales investment and coverage models)
- Develop a deep understanding of AWS Global Sales business units to effectively formulate relevant initiatives that can be implemented to drive sustainable growth
- Operate strategically by managing and maintaining standards of strategy excellence within initiatives, team and with colleagues across AWS by uncovering business and customer insights, and driving sound strategic recommendations
- Develop relationships with senior leaders across organizations to gain and share strategic insights, serving as a trusted advisor on complex business decisions

- Develop strategic and data analysis frameworks to produce insights and recommendations, working in close partnership with Data Science teams

- Demonstrated ability to conduct sophisticated, data-driven analysis of complex business challenges and translate insights into actionable recommendations and strategic deliverables
- Track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders at all organizational levels to develop and execute on complex strategic initiatives
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or EngineeringPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience working with leading global sales organizations or at a top-tier strategy consulting firm
- Experience managing strategic initiatives across APJ
- Advanced technical knowledge of cloud computing and services
- Strong understanding of IT markets, industry trends, and competitive dynamics within key APJ countries
- Track record of delivering impactful, data-driven recommendations to senior executives at a global or regional level
- Proven experience to effectively lead and execute on strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving industry
- Advanced degree such as an MBA, Ph.D., or other relevant post-graduate qualification
