Plans computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection. Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries. Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management. Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Note: May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions. What will make you a good fit for the role? /Responsibilities

• Responsible for installation, configuration and maintenance of server-based applications
• Responsible for deployment of application upgrades and patches
• Tasked with daily monitoring of all applications
• Tasked with Troubleshooting of application related errors
• Responsible for fine-tuning of configuration of application settings for optimal performance
• Tasked with coordination with 3rd party support/vendors to address application related issues
• For some new application/projects, involved in design of application workflow and technical specifications to ensure standards for performance and optimization are met
• Maintenance of application user access and monitoring of authorization

Database Administration

• Responsible for installation, configuration and maintenance of database systems
• Responsible for deployment of patches and upgrades to databases
• Tasked with daily monitoring of all databases
• Tasked with troubleshooting errors related to database systems
• Responsible for fine-tuning of configuration of databases settings for optimal performance
• Responsible for performing regular backups and maintaining the automated backup jobs
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining high-availability on databases using technologies such as log-shipping, mirror and replication.
• Responsible for monitoring available server resources (e.g. disk space, RAM, etc.) for optimal database performance.
• Maintenance of DB user access and monitoring of authorization
