To provide technical advice and guidance on the product and service capabilities of James Walker\xe2\x80\x99s broad product range ensuring a internal and external stakeholders and customers are supported effectively.
To provide customer site support for product and equipment measurement for the purpose of part identification and/or creation.
To provide support to local operations on routine inspection of products.
Key Responsibilities
To assist and train Internal Sales Representatives in the interpretation of customers\xe2\x80\x99 requirements, and in the selection of the most appropriate product to satisfy these requirements.
To ensure that where there is a choice of suitable technical solutions, products, or route to manufacture, the most appropriate solution balancing operational and commercial aspects for the particular circumstances are selected.
To clearly understand when more detailed technical support is required, and to seek assistance from the most appropriate \xe2\x80\x9cTechnically Competent\xe2\x80\x9d member of the MBU\xe2\x80\x99s technical teams to resolve the query.
To ensure that any systems and processes associated with the role comply with both Company policy and relevant legislation.
To make product and material selection recommendations based upon:
Published Literature.
Knowledge and experience gained and through targeted product training.
To give, and where necessary, seek advice on manufacture capability.
To recognize and interpret International, National, Customer and Company specifications.
To provide guidance such that Customer Support Centre colleagues understand and observe all applicable Company technical, quality product liability policies, rules and procedures, and to set a good personal example in their observance.
To provide site support at customer premises for the identification of parts.
To create drawings of gaskets to allow creation of parts and manufacture thereof.
Carry out routine inspection activities, including dimensional, material identification and preparation of data for certification.
Facilitate and support customer product concern investigation.
Qualifications
Diploma/Accredited certificated qualification in science or Engineering discipline.
Skills & Experience
Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, face to face, in writing and over the telephone, particularly customers about product applications and mechanical equipment at a technical level.
Attention to detail and Hands on Engineering Skills.
Ability to read drawings and produce rough outline sketches.
Good IT skills.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet business needs, customer needs and changes in processes.
Ability to work unsupervised and within a team.
Preferred
Experience of working in an engineering environment, where specifying parts to drawings or assemblies has been a part of the role.
Experience in the sealing industry and in using inspection equipment.
Use of CAD software packages.
Working in or with downstream oil and gas industry (E.g., refineries).
Ability to start work soon is preferred.
Hands on engineering skills.
Minimum 5 to 8 years\' experience in similar capacity of a global company within industrial engineering or Oil & Gas industry (E.g., refineries).
