As an Architecture Engineer, you'll design and implement secure hybrid infrastructures aligned with IM8 & CIS compliance, contributing to resilient and high-availability enterprise systems.


This is a 12-month renewable contract role under a major IT delivery project.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Design & optimise operating system architectures (Solaris Zones/LDOMs, Windows AD, RHEL hardening) Architect network & firewall solutions (routing, switching, SD-WAN, Palo Alto, Check Point) for zero-trust environments Implement virtualisation & storage architectures (VMware, Dell EMC) with HA/DR design principles Develop automation frameworks using Ansible and infrastructure-as-code methodologies Support database architecture for Oracle and MS SQL systems to ensure performance & security compliance Document architecture decisions, patterns, and compliance artefacts for accreditation

WHAT IS NEEDED FROM YOU

5-8 years' experience in infrastructure or solutions architecture across hybrid environments Strong knowledge of IM8 and CIS compliance, zero-trust design, and automation frameworks Proficiency in VMware, Windows/Linux hardening, and enterprise networking (SD-WAN, routing, switching) Familiar with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) and scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python) Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills Ability to obtain CAT 2 security clearance

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT

Certified in TOGAF 9+, AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Architect, or RHCA Security or networking certifications (PCNSE, CCSM, CCNP) Experience in government or defence technology environments * Advanced credentials (CISSP-ISSAP, ITIL Master, Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform Associate)
