This family develops, refines, and implements the financial policies, plans, measures, and controls to safeguard and accurately report on the financial results of the business

Job Summary

This role carries out varied accounting tasks and assignments including compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data and completes rotations, under varying levels of supervision. It is focused on developing the skills and capabilities needed to take on an Accountant role within Survitec

Duties and responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Carries out a range of accounting activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data

\xc2\xb7 Tracks progress against budgets within established finance systems and reports variances as appropriate, ensuring compliance with local market financial laws, requirements, and regulations

\xc2\xb7 Implements aspects of the global Survitec control framework, developing and maintaining financial controls

\xc2\xb7 Collates and analyses data using standard accounting methodologies, systems, tools, and formats to deliver high quality monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to the business, under varying degrees of supervision

\xc2\xb7 Produces key financial data and documents including aspects of Survitec statutory accounts; monthly reporting, budgeting, and reforecast processes; monthly management accounts pack (including commentary and analysis for key business stakeholders); and monthly balance sheet production, reconciliation, and validation

\xc2\xb7 Participates in the monthly accounting cycle, including assisting with the organisation and co-ordination of the month end process and associated Board reports

\xc2\xb7 Carries out checks to ensure the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues, providing assurance to Survitec business and Finance management that the accounting records of the local entities are accurate

\xc2\xb7 Helps others get the most out of data management systems by providing support and advice

\xc2\xb7 Gathers and summarises data for non-standard analyses and reports, improvement projects and programmes, under varying levels of support

\xc2\xb7 Receives and manages accounting queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring to others where necessary for interpretation of policy

\xc2\xb7 Follows financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice. Ensures application of these through a positive, proactive, thorough, and disciplined approach

\xc2\xb7 Carries out financial health-checks to identify instances of non-compliance with Survitec\'s policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct. Works with senior colleagues to develop appropriate action plans, reporting and escalating findings as necessary according to Survitec policy and best practice

Experience and qualification

Educated to university degree level, or vocational equivalent

6 - 12 months of under-graduate work experience, where course structure supports this

No formal management experience required, as this is a developmental role
