Job Description

What the role is:You will be part of the Internal Audit Unit that enhances corporate governance by carrying out audit assignments of the Ministry and some of our Statutory Boards (namely NParks, Building and Construction Authority, Council of Estate Agents, Professional Engineers Board, Board of Architects). As part of your career development, you will be given an opportunity to either work in MND IA unit or be seconded to some of our Statutory Board IA units. Apart from planning and performing financial, compliance, operational (e.g. tree management, licensing of individual professionals and corporations) and value-for-money audits, you will be given opportunity to advise and recommend effective internal controls and best practices while reviewing processes holistically. Your first posting will be either in MND or BCA or NParks, subject to suitability of post.What you will be working on:

• Assist in the development of the internal audit plans for MND and some of our Statutory Boards \xe2\x80\xa2 Carry out audit assignments, follow-up reviews and ad-hoc projects or special reviews \xe2\x80\xa2 Explore the use of IT tools to improve effectiveness of audit processes \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide advice on control and governance practices \xe2\x80\xa2 Procure, monitor and manage outsourced internal audit services \xe2\x80\xa2 Plan and execute ad-hoc projects to raise awareness and promote good corporate governance within MND family \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide secretariat support to various committees

What we are looking for:

• At least 2-5 years of relevant working experience in Finance, Accounting and Auditing. Professional experience internal or external auditing preferred \xe2\x80\xa2 Meticulous, effective problem solving with critical thinking skills and a balanced sense of perspective \xe2\x80\xa2 Proactive and self-motivated with good report writing, communication and interpersonal skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Work independently as well as with teams \xe2\x80\xa2 Willing to gain deep and wide IA exposure through secondment in MND and some of our Statutory Board IA unit \xe2\x80\xa2 Display strong multi-tasking skills to meet tight deadlines \xe2\x80\xa2 Possess a relevant field of study in Accountancy, Business, Finance or related discipline \xe2\x80\xa2 Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analytics/ visualisation tools \xe2\x80\xa2 Candidates with more years of experience may be considered for Assistant Director position
