What the role is:As Singapore\'s coastal protection agency, PUB plays a critical role in defining what \xe2\x80\x9ccoastal resilience\xe2\x80\x9d is in the face of climate change and how Singapore\'s urban spaces will look like in future when integrated with coastal defence infrastructure. You will be part of Coastal Protection Department\'s Strategic Planning team that is responsible for charting the medium to long-term coastal protection strategies for Singapore. You will also help to formulate detailed plans to strengthen Singapore\'s coastal resilience, and plan for resources to facilitate implementation of coastal protection infrastructure. In addition, you will work closely with various teams within PUB, as well as other Ministries/ agencies and industry stakeholders on wide-ranging issues related to coastal infrastructure planning.What you will be working on:Key responsibilities include: \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop a Code of Practice and technical design guidelines to guide the industry players in the implementation of coastal protection infrastructure and flood-resilient buildings \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop, review and enhance long term coastal protection planning strategies, which include: o Identifying and assessing the risks (e.g. rate of sea level rise) and opportunities (eg long-term land use plans); o Identifying and assessing overseas best practices, emerging risks, medium and long term trends, as well as other policies that may impact the proposed strategies; o Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis to determine implications and costs of the proposed strategies; and \xe2\x80\xa2 Evaluate development proposals to assess whether they are aligned with our planning strategies and parameters, and advise stakeholders on technical requirements \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with internal (Government agencies) and external stakeholders to study staging plans and consolidate resource requirements, such as implementation timeline, land take needs, potential of co-location of infrastructure \xe2\x80\xa2 Present key insights and recommendations to PUB and MSE Senior Management, as well as key inter-agency meeting platformsWhat we are looking for:Someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment to develop technical details and working with multiple stakeholders. The officer should also be passionate about playing a part in building Singapore\'s long-term capacity to address climate change.
