What the role is
You will be part of a team which provides a comprehensive range of in-house legal services to meet CAAS\' organisational goals and operational needs and to support the Authority, Management and all CAAS Divisions in carrying out CAAS\' functions. These functions include aviation safety and economic regulation, air transport and air-hub/airport development and industry promotion, air navigation services provision, representing Singapore at the International Civil Aviation Organization and other international fora and provision of aviation training.

What you will be working on
You will provide advice/legal support in the areas of contract and risk management, intellectual property, land and related property, procurement, dispute resolution and other contractual matters and insurances. You may also handle legislation, regulatory and enforcement matters including prosecution. Your advice, support and participation in emergency response would also be needed. A successful candidate can expect to be called upon to provide advice / legal support on new and emerging issues in aviation in areas such as cyber security, digitization, research and development and artificial intelligence and unanticipated events such as the ongoing pandemic. You are also required to lead &/or provide guidance to junior colleagues in the Division.

What we are looking for

• Trained in Law, qualified under the Legal Profession Act and preferably with practice experience
• Proven track record in a senior managerial capacity, preferably with at least 10 years of experience
• Ability to think strategically, and is driven and motivated to push boundaries
• Willing to work hard and under pressure and to handle a wide range of legal work in a dynamic and challenging environment
• Strong leadership, excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage, interact and negotiate at different levels
• Ability to build cohesive and high performing teams
• Prior experience or a strong Interest in aviation and /or public sector in-house counsel would be an advantage

Note: Your appointment designation will commensurate with your relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance, and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal.
