The Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) serves to drive research development and industry adoption of additive manufacturing technology through collaborative projects with leading industry partners, and with schools and research centres within and beyond the University.
The purpose of this role is to oversee all aspects of the facilities, space and safety management of the Centre and ensure smooth procurement operations and in alignment with project budget, policies and funding agency guidelines.
Responsibilities
Facility and Lab Management
Support the Centre Director to ensure that the Centre operates effectively through managing all aspects of the facilities, space and safety management of the Centre including administrative office, laboratories, researcher rooms etc.
Coordinate office and laboratory renovations through sourcing for available office and laboratory space, preparation of budget projection for management approval, collation of inputs on equipment specifications and monitoring of renovation progress to ensure that the facility is ready in time to house the equipment needed.
Ensure that all staff are equipped with the necessary office equipment and devices to perform their jobs effectively including IT equipment and office supplies, as well as space planning for new staff.
Supervise, guide support staff and work closely with Lab Technicians on all aspects of facility, lab and safety management.
Ensure compliance to safety audit, interacting and communicating with internal and external auditors
Support the daily operation of all safety and security matters in SC3DP
Verify chemical purchases to ensure it complies to safety requirements
Safety and Security
Perform routine checks and inspection of Centre's laboratories and researcher office to ensure compliance to safety regulations
Provide advice to all staff and students on all workplace safety and health issues
Review Risk Assessment (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) in line with the ISO45001:2018 requirements and ensure that RA and SWP are executed
Administer laboratory access, being secured and governance of house rules are followed
Ensure only authorized persons have accessed to the designated areas
Administrative Support
Ensure that purchases are made in compliance with the procurement policies and procedures.
Responsible for purchases being procured in accordance with the funding agency requirement.
Coordinate, advise and assist internal and external stakeholders for purchasing and other related matters to meet deadlines.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree
3 to 5 years working experience, with relevant knowledge in laboratory safety, facilities management
Familiar with ISO standards and requirements relating to occupational health and safety
Experience in managing and organizing laboratory and office renovation
Proficient in MS Office applications
Good oral and written communication skills
Independent, meticulous and reliable
Able to multitask under given timelines
Pleasant personality with a positive mindset
