Job Description


What the role is:

The Festivals and Precinct Development (FPD) team is responsible for the organisation of two annual signature community outreach festivals under NHB - the Singapore Heritage Festival and the Singapore Night Festival as well as the place management of the Bras Basah - Bugis (BBB) arts and heritage precinct.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the overall planning and project management of large-scale festivals and activities led by the Division
  • Assist in the curation and operational coordination and execution of these programmes, including sourcing for artists and artworks, liaising with external agencies, events and visitor management etc.
  • Assist in the management and disbursement of funding to external partners where necessary
  • Assist in the preparation and assessment of vendor quotations and tenders
  • Network and develop potential partnerships with Public, Private and People sectors to initiate and implement innovative programmes. This includes sourcing for new partnerships, sponsorships and engaging volunteers to value-add to the programmes
  • Support the marketing department by leveraging social media tools to reach out and engage stakeholders, various communities and general public to meet the objectives of the programmes
Requirements
  • Background in History, Arts, Social Science, Marketing or other related fields
  • Preferably 4 to 5 years work experience, preferably in events management, education and/or the arts and heritage sectors
  • Interest and awareness of the arts and heritage
  • Experience in government procurement and finance procedures
  • Possess excellent partnership development, communications, event planning and project management skills
  • Proactive and resourceful, willingness to be on the move and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work independently yet be a good team player
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels. Able to co-ordinate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
  • Have a good command of English (verbal and written). Any additional language, especially those locally spoken, will also be an asset
  • IT-savvy, good practical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and usage of social media marketing tools
