Short Description

The candidate will support the Teaching & Learning Centre (TLC) in experimenting, designing, and implementing pedagogies and initiatives to support the needs of SUSS's faculty and students. This role will lead the content and resource writing and production, maintain departmental tech tools and infrastructure, and provide technical support for TLC initiatives and projects.



As part of the TLC team, the successful candidate is expected to support the Centre's activities including the following: * Drive content and resource research, writing, and production efforts

  • Maintain TLC repository of resources
  • Support Ed Tech design and development efforts
  • Identify, curate and write relevant teaching and learning content to deepen and innovate education
  • Identify and determine appropriate formats of resources to be developed
  • Identify and work with vendors on development of resources and content
  • Ed Tech innovation
  • Scan tech-enabled pedagogical models (e.g., hybrid learning) and emerging tech
  • Support experimenting of new pedagogies, tools, and infrastructure (e.g., speech processing software)
  • Support student advising efforts
  • Scan and experiment learning engagement strategies to maximise retention and impact of TLC resources and content
  • Measure reach and impact of strategies adopted for student advising
  • Ed Tech administration and services
  • Maintain TLC's departmental accounts/ licenses (e.g., Zoom, Sli.do)
  • Maintain TLC's CAPEX and office accessories
  • Respond to, and provide consultation for, tech-related service requests
  • Represent TLC for University-wide tech-related projects
  • Identify suitable/ relevant technologies for streamlining of TLC's daily work processes
  • Support Centre admin
  • Support Centre's efforts in organising events and activities for SUSS staff and students, such as annual T&L conferences and orientation sessions
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager/ Director
Job Purpose and Requirements
  • Degree holder, with specialisation in Education, Educational Psychology or Learning Technology
  • At least 4 years' relevant working experience
  • Strong knowledge of learning design and contemporary pedagogical practices
  • Experience in deploying educational development and learning design approaches is advantageous
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and/or other design applications is advantageous
  • Good knowledge of Learning Management System (LMS), and basic knowledge in HTML, CSS and programming concepts is advantageous
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous, organised, resourceful
  • Good team player and able to work independently to meet tight timelines
  • Driven, positive, forward looking
