[What the role is]

MICE events generate significant economic benefits for Singapore \xe2\x80\x93 you will work towards attracting, creating and growing world class business events in the Beverages, Luxury, Retail, and Education clusters. The officer will also be involved in identifying new and emerging trends, and conceptualising strategies to drive growth of Exhibitions and conferences that contribute to the development of these key economic clusters.

[What you will be working on]

• Develop and implement business development strategies / initiatives to grow a healthy pipeline of business events
• Identify and establish new networks both locally and internationally
• Develop convincing pitches to secure quality events by harnessing the full value proposition of Singapore. This would involve understanding the value chain of the industry which the event caters to and pulling together the collective support of the relevant Singapore Government agencies
• Identify emerging trends and new industries, and conceptualise a strategy that goes towards attracting and creating new business events
• Manage multiple local / international stakeholders from the public and private sectors
• Administer financial and non-financial support for events
• Showing good business acumen, analytical thinking and judgement
• Working effectively within STB to achieve results
• Working effectively with stakeholders outside STB
• Serving with heart, commitment and purpose
• Being innovative and learning continuously[

• 2-3 years of working experience in marketing, events / business development, drive partnership or account / client management
• Good verbal and written communication skills, account / stakeholder management, negotiation skills and research and analysis skills
• A high level of proficiency in the key applications of MS Office are a must, as is the ability to create and deliver effective and engaging presentations
• Ability to connect the dots and harness upcoming trends in advance to formulate strategies and execute the initiatives to give Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s MICE industry a leading edge
• Ability to think out of the box to formulate innovative means to drive business outcomes with the resources on hand
• Having MICE industry knowledge would be an advantage, but is not mandatory
