Job Description


What the role is:The Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) serves as the regulatory and developmental authority for the early childhood (EC) sector in Singapore, overseeing key aspects of children's development below the age of 7, across both kindergartens and childcare centres. ECDA is an autonomous agency jointly overseen by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), and is hosted under the Ministry of Social and Family Development. The ECDA Professional Development and Standards (PDS) division oversees frameworks and initiatives that pertain to the training and professional development of early childhood educators and leaders. This includes the rollout of sector-wide initiatives and implementation of the national curriculum frameworks. It also oversees the implementation of Singapore Preschool Accreditation Framework (SPARK) which aims to provide recognition and support for preschools in their efforts to improve teaching and learning, administration and management processes.What you will be working on:Your job scope may include one or more of the following: xe2x80xa2 Develop and implement new initiatives to strengthen pre-service and in-service training quality; xe2x80xa2 Conceptualise and implement PD initiatives to support centre leaders and educators in deepening their competencies; xe2x80xa2 Review and enhance the effectiveness of existing PD initiatives; xe2x80xa2 Build on PD-related initiatives and curriculum-related frameworks (e.g. Skills Framework, Continuing Professional Development Roadmap, Early Years Development Framework, Nurturing Early Learners Framework,) to plan and implement related workstreams; xe2x80xa2 Assist in budget management, finance processes and administrative work related to the programmes and initiativesWhat we are looking for:

  • Possess Early Childhood qualifications and Early Intervention work experience xe2x80xa2 Has held minimally Senior Preschool Educator or Deputy Centre Leader roles in an ECDA-licensed preschool xe2x80xa2 Has experience in planning and implementing training initiatives and developing, implementing and reviewing early childhood curriculum xe2x80xa2 Strong analytical thinking xe2x80xa2 Possess excellent written and oral communication skills xe2x80xa2 Self-motivated team player with strong project management skills
