The Department

The Operations, System and Controls (\xe2\x80\x9cOSC\xe2\x80\x9d) unit comprises: * Operational Processes & Controls

OSC\xe2\x80\x99s objectives and goals are to value add by advising and supporting the Group\xe2\x80\x99s growth and strategic objectives in an appropriately managed, risk-aware and controlled manner. The unit provides an integrated risk and control assurance service to the Group that supports operational process and control improvements, provides data governance and advises on risk management. The unit acts as a key partner to business and corporate units to ensure appropriate risk and control policies and processes are in place to continually strengthen the Group\xe2\x80\x99s risk and control governance structure.

Risk Management

The Risk Management team\xe2\x80\x99s vision is to value add by advising and supporting the Group\xe2\x80\x99s growth and strategic objectives in an appropriately managed, risk-aware and controlled manner. The function is responsible for defining, and forming risk policies, processes as well as advising the Group on risk management that strengthens the Group\xe2\x80\x99s risk governance structure and risk culture.

The Risk Management department comprises 2 sections: * Financial Risk Management
  • Enterprise Risk Management
The Financial Risk Management team is responsible for the independent assessment, measurement, monitoring and reporting of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s investment, financial and market risk profiles.

The team provides independent oversight of investment risk and performance to the Executive Committees, including the Group and REIT\xe2\x80\x99s Board and Audit & Risk Committees. We achieve this through close partnership with the investment, finance, treasury, asset management and leasing teams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the team members to develop and implement risk management frameworks and tools to support management decision making
  • Provide guidance to the risk analysts, and independently lead and manage projects and team to ensure successful implementation on a timely basis
  • Interact with asset, investment, treasury and finance teams to better understand and analyse risk impact and financial analysis for the company
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for investments and assets across the Group\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio using a range of risk metrics and models such as VaR and stress testing approaches to ensure the assets and investments are appropriately managed
  • Provide independent risk assessments on potential acquisitions and divestments
  • Set hurdle rates for purpose of investment benchmarking
  • Assist in the development of investment risk policies and frameworks
  • Undertake financial modelling and prepare quarterly risk reports and presentations for risk committees and board of directors
  • Undertake ad-hoc and special assignments/projects as and when delegated by the supervisor or Head of Department including assignments in the field of Enterprise/Operational Risk Management
Job Requirements
  • At least 4 years of working experience in an analytical or investment related role, preferably in real estate research/ investment, real estate/ project financing credit evaluation, corporate finance, or property valuation
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Business or Finance, Accountancy, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Real Estate or a quantitatively inclined field
  • Strong analytical background and genuine interest in problem solving and analysing investments
  • Ability to think out of the box and problem solving skills, and ability/willingness to use statistical risk methodologies and financial models such as VaR and Capital Asset Pricing Model etc
  • Broad interest in a career in risk management, investments, and real estate
  • Excellent excel modelling skills
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and able to multi-task across various projects and timelines
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Other certifications such as FRM/PRM certification will be considered.
