Job Description

Assistant Safety Manager will assist the Safety Manager in promoting safety and health for the underground operations in accordance with the Department Administrative Order (DAO 2000-98), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and other government Safety and Health standards.Key Responsibilities:a) Assist the Safety Manager in carrying out his duties.b) Monitor the observance of safety and health standards by the workers and advise the Safety Manager.c) Promote and submit a daily report to the Safety Manager in the specified form.d) Carry out periodic Safety Inspection in underground operations by using approved Inspection format and initiate recommendations as per standards for the following;

  • Utility Equipment Safety Inspection
  • Light & Heavy Equipment Safety Inspection
  • Lifting Appliances Safety Inspection
  • Emergency Equipment Safety Inspection
  • Excavation Safety Inspection
  • Facilities (Permanent and Temporary) Safety Inspection
  • Electrical Safety Inspection
  • Workplace Safety Inspection
e) Issuance of observation to any parties or individuals noted discrepancies in observing the Safety Management Plan.f) Conduct Periodic Safety Internal audits and submits them to the Safety Manager for action and recommendation.g) Ensure that the safety execution plan is being observed by checking and enforcing the approved work methodology and JHA that was prepared by the assigned supervisor or discipline in any hazardous task.h) Monitor Safety meeting that is being conducted regularly by different departments. Minutes of the meeting are to be signed off and register on file.i) Conduct Safety Awareness Induction for the newly hired underground personnel.j) Maintain Safety Bulletin Boards, Statistics Boards, and Safety Posters for promotions.k) Apprehend personnel who at their opinion directly violate Safety Standards, Rules, and Regulations that can result in incidents/accidents. This personnel will be subject to site disciplinary measures in accordance with the safety and health handbook.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:

Supplemental Pay:

Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Davao City: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Education:
  • Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience:
  • relevant: 5 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
  • PRC license in Mining Engineering (Preferred)
