POSITION SUMMARY

  • To close sales with potential revenue for all areas in Hotel, ie, groups, catering, F&B with enhanced YOY conversion rate.
  • To meet/exceed sales target
  • To generate YOY Group ADR increase (stipulated %)
  • To maximize yield
  • To contribute positively to Engagement Survey departmental result by being proactive in all aspects of departmental and interdepartmental issues.
  • To assist DOS to ensure all SOPs are met in the team.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To exceed individual assigned sales goal and responsibility for team members for achievement of total sales budget. Derive creative upsell initiatives.
  • To be a role model through leadership by example.
  • To conduct 5 daily telemarketing calls to solicit for leads
  • To meet goals set for abandon calls, ESS and shop calls
  • Builds rapport and effectively qualifies each business opportunity.
  • Directly answers all incoming group inquiries/opportunities. To handle all incoming calls in the office within 3 rings and to follow up quotations within 24 hours.
  • Determines availability of space and rates using revenue management tools such as property sales strategy, forecast book, sales system (Fidelio, SFA, etc). Seeks additional approval from Revenue Management/Director of Sales as needed.
  • Exhausts all avenues to sell hotel through alternative dates and/or rates. If no alternative is determined, cross sells to another Marriott hotel(s).
  • Presents the benefits of the hotel to the customer.
  • Sales Administration. To be actively involved in ensuring prompt attention and follow up on incoming phone calls, site inspections, proposal / inquiries. Accuracy in booking, commitments to customer on all sales/operational documents and adhering to the standards set by the department in execution and filing of all the said documents. To maintain daily activity and call reports.
  • Develops accurate contract/offer and sends to customer. Gains commitment of customer through signed contract/offer.
  • Once signed contract/offer is received, completes accurate, detailed and accurate turnover documentation for Event Management.
  • Maintains relationship with customer through thank-you letter and follow up calls to increase repeat business opportunities.
  • To be a team player motivating peers and subordinates in support of department goals, in sales and operations. Interdepartmental relations to be professional but not compromising customer satisfaction, revenue, profitability or associate morale of department / Hotel. To initiate team building activities.
  • To share responsibility for development and training of diret reports. This involves assisting in setting measurable goals for direct reports \xe2\x80\x93 Catering Executive / Coordinator Development
  • Ensures that the sales staff properly follows pricing and selling strategies.
  • Tracks and measures the performance of the Executive Meeting Planners on a monthly or period basis.
  • To adhere to personal behavioural norms of intergrity such as grooming, ownership, contactability, accountability, responsibility, visibility and punctuality.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor or department head according to changing business, economic, customer needs or restructure within Sales & Marketing department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum Diploma in Hotel Management and/or Marketing Management.
  • At least 2 years of Managerial level in Hotel Conference Sales experience.
  • Proficiency in meeting room set-ups, audio visual and other support services.
  • Understanding of contract management and legalities.
  • Understanding of sales strategy.
  • Software knowledge (MS Office or Lotus Smart Suites).
  • Able to demonstrate great leadership skills, customer development and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with everyone.
  • Able to start work within short notice period.
