The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore\'s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

Mandai Wildlife Group advocates for biodiversity, contributes leading wildlife research, develops innovative solutions to promote living sustainably, and collaborates with conservation partners in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The Group provides funding and in-kind support to Mandai Nature for conservation work across Southeast Asia.

Mandai X is the growth accelerator and venture building arm of Mandai Wildlife Group that sparks, catalyses and accelerates innovative ventures in completely new domains that drive growth and impact at scale.

As part of the Attractions Development team, you will be leading the design development and execution of the landscape components (both hardscape and softscape) of Rainforest Wild Parks. You will also complete the construction through meticulously following up and monitoring on construction progress and landscape (softscape and hardscape) works. You will be working closely within a multi-disciplinary team to drive the Design-and-Build contractor to deliver the design vision. Related works include irrigation, water features, adventure elements and site-specific animal welfare design input.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

On-site Landscape Supervision:

To deliver a park experience surrounded by an immersive landscape and retained forest clusters in line with established design vision.

Liaise with Main Contractor and Softscape Contractor on works on-site and review for detailed inspections.

Monitor drainage design issues around the park and apply practical strategies to mitigate potential ponding in an area of undulating terrain.

Oversee the monitoring of retained tree health.

Support Project Managers to monitor works on-site, especially on guest-facing or animal-facing elements.

Develop and prepare progress reports and presentations.

Oversee contractor\'s progress claims.

Support Head of Rainforest Team on Landscape contractual matters as required.

Softscape Procurement and Nursery Review

Lead nursery inspections during procurement and pre-growing period to ensure good quality trees are selected.

Oversee nursery and shrubs / saplings / tree conditions and ensure they will be planted at appropriate environmental conditions on-site.

Review irrigation shop drawings in relation to planting requirements and irrigation concepts and follow through to execution on site.

Hardscape Design Review

Coordinate mock-ups, material submissions and first article reviews and approvals from stakeholders.

Provide theming input as necessary, especially on depiction of landscape items (such as trees or rocks) to ensure scientific accuracy.

Interface and coordinate with other disciplines such as architecture, theming, adventure and animal care, in providing design direction, shop drawing review and execution of hardscape components.

Components include but are not limited to water features (inclusive of LSS systems), paths, swales.

Stakeholder Engagement and Handover

Interface with Operators, Sustainability Team etc to obtain Stakeholder buy-in prior to approval.

Contribute to Monthly Reports to Softscape Task Force

Oversee handover process for landscape components

Oversee organisation of construction documents, as-built drawings, operations manuals, and other relevant documents needed for future handover of the park.

Job Requirements:

Minimum relevant Diploma / Degree in landscape architecture, horticulture, or related fields.

At least 10 years of landscape design experience, with at least 5 years of landscape construction and site experience.

Experience in dealing with contractors and multi-disciplinary set of consultants.

Proactive team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills

Adaptable with strong stakeholder management skill as part of construction and handover stage.

Strong project management skills with clear success indicators from planning to execution.

Familiarity with 3D modelling tools such as Revitzio, shop drawing review software Bluebeam and Aconex systems.
