What the role is:The Media Industry Cluster helps cultivate a dynamic media ecosystem in Singapore, fostering globally competitive talents and content companies in broadcast, film, animation, games, and digital content creationIn this role, you will lead a team that develops and implements strategies to foster an informed and connected society through engaging content in the digital media space.Specifically, you will chart new initiatives and partnerships with industry players within the social media (content creator) and gaming industries to enable economic growth, disseminate authentic local narratives to captivate local audiences and build Singapore\'s identity locally and internationally.A keen interest and understanding of digital media trends, business and ecosystems, media consumption preferences, and analytical metrics for digital and social media are essential.Responsibilities1) Strategy Development and ImplementationLead the creation and execution of strategies, operational policies, processes, and programs to drive the growth and advancement of Singapore\'s digital media industry. This role is pivotal in supporting IMDA\'s mission as the Architect of Singapore\'s Digital Future.2) Strategy and Programme ReviewConduct comprehensive reviews of strategies and programs to ensure alignment with IMDA\'s overall mission and vision for Singapore\'s Digital Media landscape.

  • Assess strategies at corporate, group, and divisional levels regularly.
  • Review existing programmes and design targeted interventions, generate actionable execution plans, and spearhead initiatives in collaboration with government and industry stakeholders, to achieve desired outcomes for the digital media sector.
  • Engage regularly with industry stakeholders to gather insights and feedback.
  • Effectively communicate strategies and policies to ensure cohesive alignment amongst internal and external stakeholders.
3) Grant Programme AdministrationOversee the administration of grant programs aimed at supporting the development of projects, companies, and individuals within the new media sector.
  • Review and implement robust policies to enhance the relevance and effectiveness of grant programs, particularly for the Gaming and Online Creator communities.
  • Analyse and prepare comprehensive assessments and recommendations to secure approvals for programs and budgets.
  • Supervise the selection and assessment processes for grants, ensuring they are allocated to suitable projects at both company and individual talent levels to maximize value for the new media sector.
  • Manage partnerships and oversee project implementation efforts within the team, including project scoping, contract negotiation, progress monitoring, deliverable verification, funding administration, and performance review.
4) Singapore Media Festival - New Media Events:
  • Formulate and review strategies to develop New Media events under the Singapore Media Festival, advancing New Media\'s strategic interests.
  • Manage event partners and design the programming for each annual edition.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for partners, conduct performance assessments, and perform post-event analysis to identify and incorporate improvement measures for future events.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience within the digital media industry (specifically in games and online creators) with at least 8 years in leadership/managerial roles. Prior experience in administration of grants, either public or private, will be an added advantage.
  • Strategic agility with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities to distil complex environments and datasets into clear and actionable insights.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and possess strong stakeholder management skills with ability to influence and engage across all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Strong in people, programme, and project management skills.
  • Strong drive for results and able to also work independently to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
