The Role Responsibilities
Business

  • We are hiring under the Financial Institutions team. This is an important business which not only manages the firm\'s relationships with banks, insurance companies, broker / dealers, hedge funds, real money funds, PE firms, government entities, fintech, etc. globally, but also assists to overcome challenges our clients may face and help them meet their financial and business objectives.
  • The key role as an Analyst is to provide independent credit analysis and form the basis for implementing a credit strategy aimed at maximizing our client wallet share. Analysts provide Relationship Manager(s) with a thorough understanding of the client\'s industry, business cycles, and other relevant factors. To meet this objective, Analysts may focus on certain specific industry segments, along with effectively managing a credit portfolio
  • We are looking for a dynamic and energetic team-mate to join the Financial Institutions team in Singapore to contribute to the team as a Credit Analyst. The role involves working closely with key stakeholders including local and global Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, Credit Policy, Products, Compliance, Reporting, etc. to align business strategy and drive the business growth.
Risk Management
  • The candidate would be primarily responsible for managing the Credit risk associated with the portfolio and ensuring high quality of the portfolio. This includes managing ongoing quality of portfolio, producing exception reports, review credit extending across entire portfolio to ensure consistency of approach
  • The candidate will also be work closely with the Relationship Managers (RM) for origination and coverage of a portfolio & play a vital role in deal structuring to add good value from a credit / policy perspective as well as facilitate revenue growth in the portfolio.
  • End to end deal management - from identifying needs, structuring to term-sheet and credit approvals. Coordinate inputs and approvals from internal stakeholders on transactions.
  • Work with RM on executing account plans of the clients they cover, establishing, and maintaining an understanding of the client and their needs and steering the client relationship along with the relevant GAM, where applicable.
  • Act as a champion of the Bank\'s brand, culture, and conduct standards
  • Provide client insights in relation to an industry sector, client information and account plans
  • Provide creative recommendations to the RM by monitoring peer groups & competitors and undertaking industry reviews based on non-standard industry / company information / data (equity, credit reports, press and magazine reports)
  • Evaluate learning around exception cases and seek to share this with other Analysts to help properly capture risk profiles and ensure robust credit analysis
  • Assist, train and mentor junior credit analysts, interns and International Graduates
  • Support Head CA / Relationship Managers / other team members on ad-hoc projects / deals etc. as and when required.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Degree in Accountancy, Banking & Finance, Business Management, Economics or comparable.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in Commercial Banking/Corporate Banking.
  • Strong analytical ability, focused on the assessment and calibration of credit risk.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to work across cultures and within a dynamic environment.
  • Good understanding of financial statement analysis and banking products such as trade, lending, FX etc.
  • Team player with a can-do attitude.
