Job Description


Equiteq is looking for an experienced, commercially astute, entrepreneurial and intellectually adaptable candidate to take a leading role in the delivery of client projects for its M&A service offering. This individual will be responsible for leading deals from end-to-end. This individual will be able to work with senior level stakeholders, act as a trusted advisor to them and will expand an international network to develop a pipeline of future deals. The successful candidate will lead, manage, inspire and motivate high performance across the business and within the market.

Key responsibilities and Challenges:

  • Design, lead and execute complex M&A/transactions engagements.
  • Lead Sales – this individual will work with management teams, founders and deal teams in order to successfully complete the sales process of Equiteq’s clients’ organisations.
  • Responsible for delivery and project management with the ability to gain credibility with clients across the full portfolio of M&A solutions.
  • Work closely with clients and understand and articulate the complexities and intricacies of a consulting business, building this into a proposition for potential buyers.
  • Due Diligence – will work with and lead deal teams on all aspects of an acquisition (sell-side).
  • Monitoring – act as a challenge/sounding board for the deal team and senior stakeholders to identify potential risks and areas for value creation.
  • Transfer best practice across companies and facilitate management interaction between companies.
  • Maintain central advisor relationships to ensure continuity and consistent minimum level of service.
  • Understand the professional service market and continue to develop their knowledge and capability within this field.
  • What we are looking for?

Professional Experience Required

  • A track record in designing, leading and executing complex deals. This person will had led, from end-to-end, the sale of entire companies. These strategic projects will have been challenging from a multi-site, multi-disciplinary delivery or business consulting perspective.
  • Demonstrated senior-level interaction and influence (including capacity to undertake board functions) and the capacity to effect change through highly leveraged structures (third parties).
  • A history of influencing client agendas and maintaining relationships at a senior level, aligned to key decision-makers within blue chip organisations.
  • Knowledge and practice of consulting within a deal environment spanning commercial due diligence, portfolio work and 100 day plans.
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully coaching, mentoring and collaboratively working with teams.
  • Effective communication and integration within external organisations.
  • A record of proactively identifying future commercial opportunities within new and existing clients.

Education/Qualification
  • Qualification to degree level in an appropriate discipline
  • Post graduate, CFA qualification desired, but not essential.
