Role Responsibilities

  • Support Product Distribution Strategy focusing on Insurance Products across segments and value streams.
  • Support and Drive Business Performance, from channel/distribution sales performance, to cost management, customer base growth and market share.
  • Drive Product Management and Delivery \xe2\x80\x93 Ensure Bancassurance product delivery and execution of the product\xe2\x80\x99s route to market across all channels, in line with the overall business plan and revenue targets.
  • Ensure compliance with Regulations, the Group Insurance Manual and the relevant Group Procedure and Product Governance committees.
Strategy
  • Work closely with insurance partners to conceptualise, negotiate, develop, or re-package product propositions to drive sales acquisition and increase wallet share. This is enabled by identifying customer, market, and/or distribution opportunities, and conducting regular market scans for best practice.
  • Support Bancassurance Product Head to deliver an overall country strategy with proactive and regular engagements with all Segments and other departments to drive the business forward.
Business
  • Conduct regular insurance product and provider reviews and competitor analysis on price and proposition.
  • Support Bancassurance revenue growth in accordance with Budget/Forecast as well as to deliver the business plans.
  • Track and measure results, and ensure reporting and MIS infrastructure is in place to measure business performance (profit, revenue, commission, and costs) and financial drivers (e.g., referrals, conversion ratios).
Processes
  • Coordinate insurance providers and internal teams (marketing, segments) to drive product launch and increase product penetration, such as:
  • Marketing and Product launch: sales kits and below-the-line marketing such as point-of-sale materials, internal & external communication, promotions, direct marketing, event marketing and scripts.
  • Training coordination and improve distribution touchpoints.
  • Targeted marketing at client base via Telemarketing, Direct Marketing, or Remote Channels and utilizing customer analytics and purchase propensity model.
  • Active involvement in defining the appropriate skills, education, experience etc of the insurance sales staff & development of the training curriculum to optimize sales achievement.
  • Deliver projects, including technology-related, that will support, drive, and scale up the Bancassurance business.
Risk Management
  • Identify, assess, monitor key issues for projects, activities and products to be delivered/delivered and to put in place appropriate controls and measures to control and mitigate risks.
Governance
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role. Manage activities to comply with regulations as well as internal policies and procedures. Deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the Bancassurance team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\'s Conduct Principles. Fair Outcomes for Clients, Effective Financial Markets, Financial Crime Compliance, The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Other Responsibilities
  • Embed Here for good and Group\xe2\x80\x99s brand and values in Bancassurance team, perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Degree Holder with 5+ years of relevant Insurance sales or product experience.
  • M5, M8, M9 and HI and/or PGI and BCP essentials.
  • Digital marketing experience will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent people and project management skills with strong interpersonal and communication ability to independently deal with people of all levels in complex and challenging situations.
