Edelman Smithfield is looking for a senior financial communications specialist to join our new Asia Pacific team and grow the capital markets practice in Singapore and across the region. Based in Singapore, this candidate will support the team with business development and client management.We are looking for an Associate Director who can win new business and drive strategic growth plans. S/he needs to be familiar with transaction communications, including M&A, restructuring and IPO work, and have solid media relationships. Familiarity with special situations is a plus.This is a new practice for Edelman requiring someone with an entrepreneurial bent who is a self-starter and comfortable with ambiguity. \ Responsibilities:

• Work with Edelman\'s market leaders to grow key client business and prospect new projects.
• Support day-to-day client activity in Singapore and across APAC. Able to roll up sleeves and do the work of preparing or reviewing pitches, client communications and financial communication events.
• Provide strategic communications counsel to management teams facing complex, high-profile corporate events, including mergers and acquisitions, executive leadership changes, and crisis situations, as well as ongoing public and investor relations support.
• Coach and motivate junior team members and create learning and growth opportunities for them.

Requirements:

• 8-10 years of industry experience, preferably at an IR/Communications agency.
• Ability to speak a second language is an advantage.
• Work experience with Listed Companies, Financial Institutions
• Able to deliver financial communications, corporate communications, crisis management, and issues management projects.
• Skilled media relations strategist and practitioner with top-tier media relations experience.
