This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the HQ Finance as an Associate Finance Business Partner (FBP) in Sealand Asia. HQ Finance is the focal point for management reporting, external reporting, financial information and forecasting and budgeting.
As a FBP, you will work with multiple aspects of financial reporting, process and system optimization, financial planning and analysis as well as communication towards management. You will be working together with a pool of highly skilled and talented people in an international environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the HQ Finance Team, you will be active involved in driving quality reporting and support cross functions teams through proactiveness and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities

  • Delivers accurate, timely and aligned information on Sales, General & Administration (SG&A) performance across functions, cost types and Sealand Asia countries.
  • Own various processes including Travel Expenses Management (TEM) and SG&A reporting to ensure good quality on the figures and same accounting treatments within the countries.
  • Be active in driving actions plans for improving data quality and performances across processes and functions when required.
  • Provide insights and transparency on the FTE and SG&A Costs to various functions and countries managers to allow business planning on resources and non-operational costs efficiency.
  • Be involved and responsible in financial planning and analysis which include budgeting and forecasting and close liaising with management to sign off the SG&A estimates and budgets.
  • Provide forward looking analysis on SG&A estimates with monthly SG&A reports on dashboard and readily to engage different functions to obtain the right set of information for SGA planning and performance.
  • Responsible for providing the required governance for working capital performance management with cost efficiency focus on SG&A across Sealand Asia countries. Ensure standard reporting landscape is adhered to and consistently applied on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, as one set of data.
  • Drive aligned and accurate Service Agreements across Sealand Asia Countries, LOC and CPH counterparts.
  • Separate focus area on 3rd party Agents and AR performance management including customers’ claims, write off analysis and support the commercial teams with Global Shared Service (GSC) Teams ;
  • Also involved to ensure local statutory reporting requirements are met and filed in accordance with local accounting policies.
  • Following the control framework of the company focusing on working capital area, ensuring that control activities are properly executed (incl. fraud awareness) and ensuring feedback to the Management on control deficiencies in local control environment.
  • Validate financial impact of business decisions (e.g. accounting impact, cash flow impact, profitability, financial risk and tax exposure).
  • Liaise with external auditors for statutory audits.
  • Take on any finance related projects as and when required.
  • Address on-demand business issues.

Who we are looking for
  • We are looking for a professional individual who can challenge the status quo at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly preferred bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in similar corporate structure reporting financials or similar metrics for business performance. Shipping industry experience is preferred with insight from country/cluster organizations as well as geographical coverage of Asia Pacific.
  • Advanced Microsoft office software skills, particularly Access, Excel and PowerPoint for reports and presentations.
  • Experience with building Power BI, Tableau or other data visualization tools highly preferred.
  • Great analytical skillset, challenger mindset, high drive and focus on personal development.
  • Skills in advanced data analysis and problem solving are added advantage.
  • Strong sense of urgency and drive to deliver quality in your work - all at the same time

  • Skilled in written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills being able to work with both management and employees in a large organization
