Audience Engagement Officer(1 Year-Contract)

The Malay Heritage Centre (MHC) is hiring an Officer to support the Audience Engagement Team with its programmes, education and outreach initiatives for one (1) year. Your role involves, coordinating events and programmes and ensuring smooth execution of activities for the Malay Heritage Centre\xe2\x80\x99s audiences.. You will be part of an exciting journey with us as MHC gears up for its re-opening in 2025.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organising, and executing engagement initiatives such as events, workshops, and programme aimed at engaging various target audiences.
• Ensure all logistical aspects such as signage, and craft materials are well-prepared.
• Manage and maintain engagement-related resources such as pull-up banners and craft materials.
• Maintain the Malay Heritage Centre\xe2\x80\x99s audience engagement mailbox by responding to public queries.
• Collect and analyse visitor feedback on engagement initiatives to provide insights for improving future programmes.
• Ensure timely update of mailing lists.
• Work closely with the marketing and communications team to promote the engagement initiatives.
• Stay informed about best practices for creating inclusive and accessible experiences in museum.
• Support any other major programmes and/or events in the MHC calendar, and any task assigned.

• Diploma in Arts Business Management, Events Management or any related field.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting implementing educational events in school, museum, or cultural institution.
• Able to work during evenings, weekends, and special events as required.
• Prior experience in customer service, event planning, or museum-related roles is a plus.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging and collaborating with diverse audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong administrative and project management skills to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Meticulous attention to details.
• Passionate about Malay culture and heritage, and a passion for sharing about the culture with others.
• Comfortable to work well in a team as well as independently.
• roficiency in Malay and digital editing software is a plus but not compulsory
