APCF-ROM is established to provide operational support to all APAC offices as well as to improve their operational efficiency & effectiveness

Job Responsibilities
1) Regional Operational Risk Monitoring - To analyze & manage operational risks of overseas offices through reviewing

  • Quantitative Risk Profile
  • Operational Errors
  • Local Operations Committee
  • Intra-Office Inspection Plan and Results
  • Control Self-Assessment
  • Internal Operation Procedure
  • Business Continuity Management
2) Managing Operation Planning and Support through addressing operational concerns, operational risk mitigation, HOP matters and streamline workflows.
  • Devise and introduce strategies to prevent, eliminate & mitigate operational risks of overseas offices by providing opinions and advises for streamlining of workflow and processes
  • Review and analyze branches\' operational workflow and identify potential bottlenecks and operational lapses to reduce
operational errors
  • To spearhead the preparation of overseas offices\' OER, Transaction Volume & Operational Analysis report for Management
3) Participate in Branch\'s evaluation through coordinating with HQ on SQE Goal Setting or Mizuho Awards
  • Engage with the overseas offices to select core Goal Setting items
  • Evaluates overseas offices\' achievement based on the criteria set by HQ, IOPD
4) Training - on-site, offsite and/or ad-hoc (upon request) training to our overseas offices
  • Conduct trainings at overseas offices e.g. SWIFT basic knowledge, Operations Planning, Operational Risk Control, Local
Operation Committee Preparation, Intra-Office Inspection, BCP, Operational Error Reporting, Operation Error Reduction, New Product IOP, Irregular Ringi, HOP Chapters to level up national staffs\' expertise, etc.
  • To plan and organize Forums to upgrade the skills and knowledge of overseas offices national staffs; to design Forum agenda, to arrange for speakers and meeting facilities (OJT, Regional Operations Forum)
  • Assist overseas office in Pre-Audit preparation and review their operational process to confirm adequacy of internal control
5) Other Ad-Hoc Support
  • Handle overseas offices\' adhoc enquiries on HOP matters etc
  • Review overseas offices\' Ringi application and share our analysis of any impending risks in the office e.g. Branch Reorganization, Delegation of GM/JGM authorities, Setting up of New BCP Office, Office Relocation, New Product etc.
6) Regional Report
  • Reporting & Analysis; compiling reports, updates, translation from English to Japanese & vice-versa
  • Prepare consolidated report on Asia Pacific region\'s Transaction Volume, Operational Errors, Trade Volume, MGEB ratio etc.
7) Strategic Operations Planning
  • Contribute comprehensively in the areas of operational risk and provide cross-functional support between other HQ teams and overseas offices: -
a)BCP-related
  • To strengthen BCP measures of overseas offices through planning with other HQ teams in the aspect of IT resources
  • Rollout and improve remote access operations across overseas offices
b)SEIBI Asia Rollout
  • Promotion and Implementation of Global Core Banking System (SEIBI) Asia Rollout for overseas offices
  • Streamline the process of each overseas office in order to have smoother SEIBI preparation
c)Libor Discontinuation Project
  • Lead and Drive LIBOR Discontinuation PJ for overseas offices
  • Provide cross functional guidance based on the expertise of operational risk
d)Mizuho Global Services Project (subsidiary for operation outsourcing) * Review and Lead the project with India and related HQ departments through coordination and strategic planning

e) ISO 20022 * Review and support the project with related HQ departments and overseas offices through coordination and strategic planning

Job Requirements
1) Communicate (verbal & written) in English with all levels within the organization (HQ and overseas branches)
2) Proficiency in Japanese is preferred but not mandatory.
3) Willing to travel for short business trips to branch offices when required
4)Diverse knowledge of various back-office operations (Loans, Treasury, Trade, Remittance, Deposit), Operations Planning and Risk Management.
