Your role and impact:

As our Business Development Director, you will be responsible for identifying and initiating project-based capital investments proposals and manage or participate in new business development projects (including greenfield and brownfield), mergers and acquisitions in order to support sustainable growth of the company.

In-line with the Global\xe2\x80\x99s strategic direction on Improve, Grow and Accelerate, the BD director is required to:

Accelerate: Deliver New energy and Energy transition growth projects

Grow: Support larger scale existing business BD for industrial customers and gasses

Improve: Work with the teams to improve bottomline, by developing plans, supporting improvement projects with analyses, providing change capacity and BD Mgr / project management capability (for selected projects and when required), working formal and informal organization.

Responsibilities:

(1) Business Strategy and Development: Responsible for business growth in assigned areas/ markets

Identifies, selects and targets strategic new markets, opportunities and customers for New Energy and Energy Transition projects

Examines market trends and conditions and develops strategies to benefit from changing market or customer conditions

Generates and communicates opportunities for growth through investments

Translates complex findings into actionable recommendations and identification of growth/ improvement opportunities

Deliver New energy and Energy transition growth projects in Singapore

Support larger scale existing business BD for industrial customers and gasses

Work with the teams to improve bottomline, by developing plans, supporting improvement projects with analyses, providing change capacity and BD Mgr / project management capability (for selected projects and when required), working formal and informal organization

(2) Investments Proposal: Responsible for funneling the pipeline of PIPs/ SIPs/ FIPs related to assigned areas/ markets

Presents viable business cases and investment projects for evaluation by senior management

Demonstrates the financial viability and incremental value of proposed investment projects

Ensures all commercial, regulatory and permit risks are mitigated

Delivers written Investment Proposals for Division Management or the Vopak Executive Board

Ensures all internal approvals are received from senior management through formal project funding requests until Final Investment Decision

(3) Stakeholder Management: Responsible for managing identified stakeholders

Acts as primary contact between potential customer and the internal organization

Coordinates cross-functional alignment between the company\'s commercial, operational, financial, legal and technical departments

Regularly provides updates on progress of business cases and projects to senior management

Leads or supports commercial contract negotiations with new and existing customers; may serve as principal customer contact (\xe2\x80\x9clead-to-contract\xe2\x80\x9d)

Develops and maintains relationships with government officials and regulators for Vopak in Singapore

Is the primary focus for SGingapore goverment affairs & relations

Champions culture improvements in VTS

(4) Project Management: Responsible for managing and delivering projects per Vopak policies and guidelines

Follows the company\'s stage-gate Project Management process

Develops the scope, timeline, overall goals for investment projects

Manages all project phases up until at least Final Investment Decision

Ensures projects are delivered on-time, in-scope and in-budget

Ensures all projects are executed in compliance with relevant internal and external quality and regulatory requirements

Contributes to post-implementation reviews and evaluation phase after project commissioning; identifies and communicates learnings and best practices

Ensures all proposals and final contracts are in compliance with relevant regulations and company standards

(5) M&A: Responsible for M&A development in assigned areas/ markets

Identifies potential acquisition or alliance partners in line with the long-term business strategy

Negotiates and supports drafting of legal M&A documents such as NDA\'s, LOI\'s, joint-venture agreements

Supports the M&A department in due-diligence processes and in determining the optimum value of acquisitions

Requirements:

Bachelor\'s degree (technical/engineering or business/economics); MBA a plus

Minimum of 5-7 years commercial and business development experience in the petroleum, petrochemical sector or associated industries

Experience working with (international) customers in a business-to-business environment

Current knowledge of local market and regulatory conditions in the petroleum and/or petrochemical sector

Thorough understanding of financial concepts and models

Ability to influence and negotiate; prioritize, meet deadlines; multi task

Strong leadership, project management and business development skills
