Our Defense APAC business requires an outstanding individual to join us and help to increase our sales and market share, while developing increased long-term opportunities. Develop and execute pursuit strategies for high value Teledyne FLIR Defense products across the Surveillance, UAS, UGS, and IS product spectra. Lead the proposal process for all pursuits and support key customers by anticipating future customer requirements and needs to capture both minor and major programs, with particular focus in South and East Asia.

You will be working within a busy diverse Sales & Business Development Team across multiple product lines as well as with other departments such as product management, services, engineering, and compliance. You will develop a long-term understanding of Teledyne FLIR Defense\xe2\x80\x99s target markets in your assigned region, and work closely with the APAC Sales & Business Development Team to foster a pipeline focused on long term growth in orders bookings and develop a backlog of orders across multiple product lines.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be a key contributor in a collaborative APAC sales team, executing Teledyne FLIR\xe2\x80\x99s objectives throughout the region, with principal focus in South and East Asia.
  • Carry out regular analysis of market needs and competitive scenarios, providing feedback to leadership.
  • Promote, develop, and conclude sales of Teledyne FLIR Defense products to OEMs, end users, and integrators across the APAC region.
  • Identify and develop business partners in the APAC region to support the long-term sales growth of Teledyne FLIR Defense.
  • Develop strategies and options favorable to Teledyne FLIR Defense, to capture business opportunities in India within the \xe2\x80\x9cMake in India\xe2\x80\x9d framework.
  • Manage the sales and business development process with an emphasis on predictable growth and success in orders capture.
  • Support operational execution including licensing requirements, administrative tasks, etc.
  • Be the main POC for assigned customers and end users, from order capture through post-sales support.
  • Manage sales pursuits within the APAC region including regular monitoring and timely responses to RFQ, RFPs, demo requests, and information requests.
  • Set and meet or exceed booking forecasts for assigned customers and territories.
Job Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate solid experience in a similar defense working environment.
  • Proven experience with sales in the military and para-public market space is highly advantageous.
  • Experience with EO and thermal imaging markets is advantageous.
  • Experience with unmanned air and ground systems markets is advantageous.
  • Experience with Airborne, Border Protection, Land, and Maritime markets is advantageous.
  • The successful candidate will have the ability to work at all levels of a customer or end user organization.
  • As well as being technically adept, you will have experience with Government tenders and competitive bids using strong persuasive oral and writing skills.
  • You will be motivated to achieve demanding Team sales targets.
  • It will be advantageous if you understand the underlying business principles, sales processes, and a demonstrated ability to understand technical factors associated with our products and markets.
  • A military background would benefit the candidate.
  • Computer skills to support proposal preparation, presentations and customer relationship management are essential.
  • The ability to work cross-functionally is required for this role.
  • Analysis skills are critical for future product investments.
  • English is essential. Other regional languages would be advantageous.
  • The ability to travel extensively is an essential requirement of the role.
  • Awareness of statutory and corporate FCPA, export licensing and foreign trade rules.
  • Team player but capable of working independently, self-starter, able to work under pressure, flexible approach, able to work outside of personal comfort zone.
