Job Description


Based in Singapore, this hands-on BD role is focused on supporting BD outcomes for the firm, across sectors and practice areas.

Reporting to the Senior BD Manager (Singapore), you will join a supportive and close-knit local team and work in collaboration with regional BD colleagues and working daily with partners on planning and delivery.

Key areas of focus

  • Assisting the preparation and production of client pitch documents and other capability materials involving:
  • Drafting pitches and working with the appropriate BD Manager and/or Senior BD Manager, as well as partners and lawyers as appropriate, to complete the pitch
  • Developing and maintaining deal/case databases
  • Developing and maintaining a pitch log with appropriate details
  • Providing client and sector research for legal and BD teams
  • Monitoring the progress of pitches ensuring the results are communicated to the appropriate audiences
  • Organisation and administration of events and other elements involved in campaigns. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Planning and organising all aspects of seminars and hospitality events, including budget monitoring
  • Focus on ROI and follow up activities post event
  • Managing external communications relating to events including communications and appropriate mailing lists
  • Managing internal promotion activities and communications in relation to events
  • Liaising with external vendors, event organisers and suppliers as well as relevant internal business services teams
  • Performing front of house duties at events
  • Researching and collating information on event venues and organisers for use by others in the BD team
  • Management of client information and the compilation of data and reports for partner groups
  • Updating sector and practice web pages and producing other e-communications
  • Assisting in the production of legal directory submissions
  • Managing sector and practice data in the firm\'s CRM (InterAction) system
  • Organising and keeping track of activities and task deadlines in BD dashboard
  • Organising and categorising documents within the firm\'s document management system, creating an intuitive folder structure for easy navigation and retrieval
  • Monitoring and ensuring the timeliness of filing and archival of documents
It is expected that the BD Executive will also:
  • Be a collegiate and supportive member of the APAC and international BD teams
  • Contribute to the development of BD tools, resources and best practice approaches, and identifying ways to raise the bar for client experience with the Clyde & Co brand
  • Maintain an overview of the developments taking place within the firm, with clients and the market, and communicate those developments to partners, lawyers and BD team members.
Candidate profile
  • University qualifications in marketing, commerce or a business-related discipline are welcome but not mandatory
  • For BD Executive: one to two years\' experience working in a BD capacity within the professional services industry, preferably legal services
  • Strong team player
  • Strong IT skills with experience of CRM systems (preferably InterAction), Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities within tight timescales
  • Able to work to very tight deadlines under pressure and to assimilate information quickly
  • Strong interpersonal skills including confidence, positivity, diplomacy and the ability to gain credibility quickly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Positive and tenacious with the ability to pro-actively drive initiatives forward and motivate resources within and outside your own team to deliver results
