Business: Verisk Life, Health & Travel (LHT), a Verisk Analytics company, has more than 20 years experience of providing risk rating tools to the insurance market. LHT provides medical and veterinary underwriting software to insurance providers that enables the rating of pre-existing medical conditions to allow informed underwriting decisions to be made on travel, pet and other health related insurance products. Clients range from multinational and specialist insurers to insurance brokers and aggregators.
Location: Singapore with a significant proportion of work being outside of the office, i.e. at client meetings and events domestically & internationally
Hours: Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm working a 38-hour week. Given LH&T clients are in different time zones there may be a requirement to work outside of these hours on occasion, even after the initial few months.
Reporting to: Head of Sales & Strategic Marketing - APAC, LH&T based in Sydney, Australia.
Internal Strategic Support: The Business Development Manager will play a key role in identifying and closing new business opportunities; this will be achieved by working closely with the Head of Sales & Strategic Marketing, APAC. The sales strategy will be mutually agreed and led by the Regional Director. APAC.

Main purpose of the job including responsibilities: The Business Development Manager is a pivotal role that will facilitate, pursue and close new Life, Health & Travel (LHT) business opportunities within South-East Asia.
The Business Development Manager will play a key role, with direction from the Head of Sales & Strategic Marketing, APAC in continuing to build and develop the LHT delivery capability and income, in addition to maintaining relationships with the international sales and marketing teams to provide a world-class service delivery capability.
The Business Development Manager will deliver against the business plan and targets and implement measures to ensure an appropriate communication flow with colleagues based in the UK and Australasia to ensure cohesive global strategy and collaboration. The Business Development Manager will deliver a professional and high standard of customer service at all times ensuring all contractual obligations are met and adhered to.
Key activities/main duties: Commercial/Account Management
The role of the Business Development Manager will initially be twofold; new business opportunities and account management. Longer term the role will naturally split with new business wins remaining with the Business Development Manager and Account Management being delegated to a colleague.
