Key Roles and Responsibilities

• 
  Lead a business development team and report to head of Sembcorp Water Technology; manage internal resources and work collaboratively in a group setting to achieve shared results.
• Drive and carry out the business development strategies in line with organizational objectives; improve project portfolio and explores new business opportunities; meet or exceed sales targets and performance objectives.
• Analyze and elevate team performance by coaching, planning, monitoring, and appraising results of each business development team member; develop strategies to improve overall lead-to-customer conversion rate and proposal-project winning rate.
• Develop new water projects through lead generation to proposal general to contract negotiation; develop and cultivate strong relationships with various stakeholders including government agencies and industrial associations.
• Lead marketing effort including drafting marketing material, creating content for case studies, attending exhibition/business forum, and presenting at webinars.
• Analyze market conditions and identify industrial customers\xe2\x80\x99 pain points, review customers\xe2\x80\x99 information and work with internal technical, project and operation teams on process design, cost and pricing.
• Initiate and coordinate technology demonstrations and pilots as part of pre-sales process.
• Improve proposal quality by cost control, government grant/fund leveraging, new technology adoption, process design optimization, etc, to create better customer value proposition
• Conduct financial modeling for new projects to access project feasibility and profitability.
• Negotiate with customers for key term and conditions and prepare water purchase agreement or other contractual documents with group legal.
• Work with group functional assurance such as technical, digital, legal, finance, procurement, risk, etc, to obtain support on project investment decision; work with finance team on project financial analysis including but not limited to profit & loss, cash flows and returns, sensitivity analysis for financial and commercial scenarios; work with project team on risk analysis to identify key project risk and seek mitigation plans.
• Accountable for obtaining internal investment approval for identified projects via preparing investment papers with approvals from various corporate functional assurance teams.

• The candidate should have strong commercial, business skill sets and a technical background.
• An engineering degree in chemical, civil /environmental, mechanical, or other related disciplines.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
• Have a proven track record of successful sales and business development.
• Experience in proposal preparation and ability to understand specifications.
• Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Passion to develop and grow in the water industry.
• Commercial and technical experience of working with industrial customers in Semiconductor/Microelectronics, Food & Beverage, Nutritional, Pharmaceutical sectors in Singapore and regions, for industrial wastewater reclamation and treatment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
