Job Summary:

The Construction Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the administrative, financial, and operational aspects of a construction company. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on management of day-to-day business activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with legal and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, business administration, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and optimize business operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial forecasting. Oversee bidding, contract negotiation, and procurement processes. Coordinate with project managers to ensure smooth planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects. Monitor performance metrics, cost controls, and profitability across projects. Maintain compliance with all industry regulations, safety standards, and licensing requirements. Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies. Lead human resources efforts, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Identify new business opportunities and support growth strategies. Implement and manage business systems and technologies to improve efficiency.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred). Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management or business operations in the construction industry. Proven leadership and team management experience. Strong financial acumen and experience with construction budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. In-depth knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and project management. Proficient in construction software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project) and business tools (Excel, QuickBooks, ERP systems). Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. * Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
