Job Description




The Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore, offers a unique and adventurous 21st century Asian environment in which we train and educate performers, composers and recording engineers to take advantage of future professional and artistic opportunities both in Singapore and in the world. The Conservatory is distinctively international in terms of its faculty, student population and artistic outlook. Our mission is to be a focal point for musical activity, artistic development and research, both for Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.

The Conservatory is looking for a pool of technical production crews in Staging & Lighting that can be called upon on an ad-hoc basis to assist in the following areas for its concerts and events.

  • Manage and execute production and technical logistics of selected YST events, including all staging efforts, movements of assets within NUS and externally, as well as all lighting requirements.
  • Assist in concert operations and production matters including set ups, strikes, executing stage and logistics moves.
  • Taking lead to run shows when required, liaising with various YST stakeholders, and co-ordinating various aspects of technical production, including scheduling, manpower, budget planning.
  • Supervise and manage the Stage Management team\'s roster/schedule, health and safety protocols, and ensure that all aspects of production are in order.
  • Perform other production duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Significant staging experience in Classical Music context (orchestra, chamber music, contemporary music & electronics, etc.).
  • Significant lighting experience in concert or theatrical context (operation and design in opera, orchestra, theatre, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret stage designs, lighting designs, plans, technical requirements and specifications, manage technical operations and to operate lighting and stage equipment.
  • Knowledge of stage visualization softwares, electrical or audio visual production experience would be an advantage.
