The role will be based in Singapore and has managerial responsibilities. The Category Lead will drive the development and growth of certain categories at pandamart - foodpanda\'s Quick Commerce arm.

The mission is simple: \'Do whatever it takes to be recognized as a destination for groceries delivered at home in 1 hour in Singapore\' which includes managing multiple categories on a day to day, thinking disruptively about big bets that will resonate with customers and continuously testing new ideas at a very fast pace.

The candidate should have experience analyzing new business opportunities and building strong partner relationships, driving significant top and bottom line results, and be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced and changing environment. He or she is interested in creating a top notch customer experience, stays on top of industry and competitive trends, and is able to execute at both tactical and strategic levels to achieve long-term growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the P&L owner across different categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact foodpanda business
  • Develop and execute optimal category strategy, pricing, promotions, range, availability, and cost prices to expand both sales and margin
  • Innovate in the category by defining a pipeline of \xe2\x80\x9cbig bets\xe2\x80\x9d and continuously testing new ideas that are scalable and drive stickiness with customers
  • Source and build strong supplier base to negotiate terms improvement, secure supplier advertising spend, and ensure a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods
  • Work to develop new sourcing and extended range to ensure we have high quality, good value goods available to our customers year-round
  • Employ data-driven decision making to drive the category. Provide insight to the commercial team and work closely with marketing and supply chain to forecast demand and ensure consistent supply
  • Work cross functionally with Regional, Central, Product, Supply Chain, Sales Operations and Marketing to deliver strategic projects
Job Requirements:
  • 6 years experience in merchandising / buying and category management / business management or consulting with a proven history of delivering results
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Strong self drive to get things done in a changing and ambiguous environment
  • Solid problem solver - conceptual and with analytics
  • Superb business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations and overall relationship management (both internal and external)
  • Organized and structured
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Very strong communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Mastery of Excel, PowerPoint and at ease with new tools
  • Bachelor\'s Degree
