Job Description

Job Purpose To support development and implementation of sourcing and procurement strategies for support unit. Responsibilities Support development and implementation of sourcing and procurement strategies, including Category Management Plans where applicable Lead sourcing activities in relation to category and stakeholder requirements Develop content management strategy for designated categories To manage the procurement of parts to support maintenance, repair, operations and refurbishment activities of Business units. To manage the procurement of major train components and line replaceable units To manage the procurement of assigned indirect categories as required in support of the business unit To act as the business partner for the Project business unit by understanding needs and ensure their requirements are reflected in tenders To develop system support requirements and tools in support of vendor and contract management Conduct and report on analysis of expected vs. actual outcomes ensuring service levels are met and assisting the business in ensuring service level issues are remediated Qualifications & Work Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computing or related fields. Relevant logistics or procurement certification is an advantage. 2 - 3 years of related experience in a category management role would be an advantage. Work experience in the public transport industry would be an advantage. Maximo MMS, Ariba, SAP knowledge (MPR functionality) and SAP qualification is an advantage. Experience with financial institution regulatory requirements and risk management expectations related to outsourcing and vendor management is an advantage. Skills Expert negotiation/influencing skills with demonstrated ability to influence negotiated outcomes required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills grounded in continuous quality improvement required. Proven ability to plan and perform and have been involved in technical work presenting new or regularly changing problems, work from broad instruction, deal with complex factors not easily evaluated. Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective vendor, business partner, and regulatory relationships, influence decisions and collaborate effectively across the organization. Proven ability to review, monitor, and recommend amendments to contracts and implement business processes to manage against contractual obligations required. Extensive spread sheet analysis (Excel preferably with course certification) and strong mathematical abilities.
