Location: 61 Seletar Aerospace Vie Responsibilities

  • Supervise and be responsible for PWCS logistics department. This includes receiving and accounting of incoming customer parts, handling the induction of parts into the shop for repairs, and shipping of parts to customers. Oversee a group of hourly employees supporting logistics functions
  • Supervise the deployment of a group of hourly QC technicians to support production. This area of responsibility includes receiving parts into the SAP system (repair router creation), overseeing centralized FPI function, and managing/control of calibration system/tools
  • Lead a team of up to 20-30 Technicians to meet delivery commitments to achieve TAT/OTD, HPP, productivity (utilization and efficiency)
  • Liaise with various business unit repair cells to meet operational targets
  • Owns and controls repair processes within the value stream.
  • Provide technical support, including troubleshooting process & equipment-related issues, and technical data interpretation.
  • Liaise with contractors on the manufacturing of new tooling and fixtures.
  • Support new equipment purchase & installation, as required.
  • Support the integration of newly developed repairs and products into current operations.
  • Support & perform regular process/technical data reviews to ensure compliance, and to implement process certification.
  • Exercise absentee control and improve cell skills matrix.
  • Ensure compliance of Quality standards, drive EH&S and Ethics Culture
  • Drive cost reduction, productivity and continuous improvements
  • Participate in EH&S committees (WSH, Emergency Response, Incident Investigation, MG, Hoist Sling/Eye Bolt, PPE)
  • Drive a high employee engagement culture of respect, empowerment, communication, and teamwork
  • Develop potential talent in pipeline and champion employee development to ensure team stability and continuity
  • Execute Smart Factory implementation and drive transformation & enhancement in the cell.
  • Allocate manpower & resources, including overtime management and DCI to maximize productivity
  • Manage and report the production outputs and sales targets.
  • Provide effective communication across the cells, leadership development and performance feedback to the shop floor employees
  • Review staffing and training/skills needed including performance, salary, and appraisal as well as hiring, retaining and developing new talent
  • Interface with other departments such as Engineering, Quality, Finance, Customer Service, HR & Materials to achieve cell goals & company objectives
  • Standardize operational metrics, reporting and monitoring performance
  • Participate in audits and inspections as and when required
  • Lead productivity and CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence) projects to reduce cost, improve quality and cycle time
  • Support and participate in the EH&S programs and activities within the company
Requirements
  • Degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Mechanical/Mechatronics or Materials Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in the aviation industry, preferably in the aero-engine part repair environment.
  • Good understanding of workshop practices and repair processes
  • Be able to interpret engine manuals and blueprints and work instructions
  • Good understanding of the relevant airworthiness and regulatory agencies requirement.
  • Experienced with creation and revision of detailed work instructions.
  • Full understanding of process planning, process control, tooling & gauging.
  • Good understanding of Lean concepts, Mistake Proofing, Process Certification.
  • Be able to work well independently, and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate teams to achieve business goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Process and detail oriented, including strong interpersonal and prioritization skills.
  • Lean manufacturing or repair experience with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience working with system in SAP.
