• Oversees daily laboratory operations and supervises laboratory staff.
• Assists/performs lab experiments; develops and pre-tests lab experiments and analyzes procedures for intended results.
• Evaluates effectiveness of lab experiments, and makes modifications as appropriate.
• Monitors laboratory staff work instruction in assigned area of responsibility, resolving problems as they arise and making changes as needed to achieve intended results.
• Conducts meetings to introduce, demonstrate and explain experimental results where required.
• Purchases and orders all laboratory equipment and supplies, processing all necessary paperwork and maintaining appropriate records.
• Prepares and revises lab handouts and/or lab manuals, with responsibility for accuracy of information and clarity of theory.
• Maintains, monitors, ensures proper security of and requests minor repairs on scientific laboratory equipment.
• Determines equipment, supplies, and physical set-up of each experiment.
• Evaluates laboratory staff performance.
• Performs special projects as needed or assigned, such as research and development.
• Supervises and assists in clean-up and disassembly of laboratory equipment.
• Prepares lab solutions, reagents, and media and/or other laboratory apparatus, as needed to carry out laboratory exercise.
• Trains and evaluates staff lab in assigned area of responsibility.
• Prepare schedule for Laboratory Staff.
• Collects and analyzes test results and make adjustments to formulation/production procedures.
• Coordinates with production supervisors/personnel, inventory, and admin personnel for any changes in procedure/instruction.
• Teaches new employees and trainees in laboratory techniques.
• Performs other related duties as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferably a graduate of BS- Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and a licensed Chemical Engineer
• Prior experience in similar research and teaching laboratories
• 3 years experience in laboratory setting (supervisory experience preferred)
• Computer literate
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills
• Willing to be assigned in Sogod, Cebu
• Can start ASAP

Job Type: Full-timeSchedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift

Supplemental Pay:

• 13th month salary
• Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Cebu City, Cebu: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Required)
